Just thought I’d post as an FYI…

we arrive here on Saturday (Dec 18) dropped bags at resort and went to Blizzard Beach. Weather was perfect, about 83 or so. Arrived 1:30. The place was EMPTY. We were able to walk on everything. Did all the major runs, laXu river, wave pool, snack break, some repeat rides… left at 4. It was perfect for our arrival day. Kids has a blast and was so easy with no crowds. Not sure why it was empty on such a nice day? But it was perfect for us.

We did the same for our December trip in 2018 and found the exact same thing. Great way to start our vacation, especially as we'd left snow at home in the morning!

Glad your trip started out so well!

Have a general question about using Park Hopper Plus for waterparks. We have 5-day PH+ tickets. We will be arriving early on our check-in day and wanted to head to Blizzard Beach but not one of the 4 main parks. Just wanted to confirm that the 5 "plus" visits are tabulated separately from the park days. Thanks!

Yes they are. With a 5-day PH+ ticket you get 5 days in the parks and 5 days in the waterparks.

Are you staying onsite or offsite?

I have been to Blizzard Beach twice this month and also couldn’t believe how few people were there. The wave pool had maybe 30 people on my visit 10 days ago. It took longer to ride the chairlift up to the slides than waiting for a slide. It was a lot of fun especially compared to how crowded the parks have been.

I thought maybe the upper 70s to low 80s is too cold for the locals?

I’m hoping that Typhoon Lagoon opens after Blizzard Beach closes next week since I am enjoying Blizzard Beach as much as the theme parks.
