Taking my 5 year old grandson to Disney World. I am wondering if the Blizzard Beach kids section is worth spending the extra $56 to visit, or would he have just as much fun at the volcano pool at the Polynesian (where we will be staying for 5 nights in Dec).

Whatdya think?

Thanks!

Tink

I know my DS when he was 5 loved Blizzard Beach. He loved the wave pool.

If you go, you might want to wear water shoes. The bottom of the pool is hard and toes can get banging up. My DS stubbed his toe and pulled the nail all the way back. It was quite a sight and he was in a lot of pain. Fortunately, he was young enough to stay in a strolled most of the rest of the trip and wore open toed sandals. The CM's at BB said it happens alot.

My youngest DS 4 , loved Blizzard Beach last July. Just be ready to keep up. There is loads to do. You'll love the family rafts. (Best way to get to them is to take the chair lift.) If you do the tube ride that goes around the park, keep a handle on your little one's tube or let them sit in your lap. Sometimes families can get split up in the current. It is a great place and lots to do for children. Have a ball!

Our kids were 7 & 8 last trip at the Poly and spent two full mornings at the Volcano Pool! Cool slide, grotto area, beach to play at, and food near by. We were planning to do Typhoon Lagoon, but saved our money!

My three kids ages 11, 9 and 5 are all perfectly content swimming at the pools at the hotels! They are fun and not so crowded as Blizzard Beach. They never even ask to go to BB and they have been there.

HTH Lots of luck
