blasphemy I know AKL question

We paid to upgrade to Sav View last February from Pool view and I was EXTREMLY disappointed. We had a horrible savannah view and to pour salt in our wounds we as far as far can be from the pool and restaurants...

I LOVED AKL.... I will definately stay there again but I would never pay for Sav view again... I would take a complementary upgrade only if the savannah is close to everything.

AKL is one of my favorite places to stay. OK, I haven't stayed everywhere, but I don't need to. I wouldn't stay there though without a Savanah view. You can see lots of animals from many viewing areas, but it is so wonderful to just have them outside your balcony all the time. We didn't spend gobs of time in the room, but what time we did spend there, it was fantastic and I think anything else would just be a let down.

Of course, if money is a major issue, then I'd go with whatever I could afford. When we can't get a savanah room (price or availability), we just stay elsewhere. That's why this trip we'll be at the WL.

If you are not the type to spend much time in your room, then you could probably skip the savanah view. I'm not sure I'd do standard view though. Maybe try for pool view.
If you do spend a lot of time in your room, go for savanah!

What GREAT info...We are going to 'splurge' and move the the AKL for the end of our WDW trip (request from our DD) - now we just have to decide which view!! - those bunkbeds look GREAT!! Thanx for the pics.
