Blackhawks Parade

They sure do. I was still in HS when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup and it was the coolest thing to take the train into the city, stand in the Canyon of Heroes and watch the confetti fall as the team went by. I am a HOCKEY FAN and I was there because I wanted to be a part of that celebration. I never claimed to be a Ranger fan, never hopped on board as they approached the last series. Just wanted to see a bit of history being made.

With this logic, a person should not be considered a fan of musicians that they haven't seen live in concert.

Apples to Oranges

I think their point is, it doesn't really hurt you....

You may not like that their "bandwagon", even though no one can truly define what that is. In my opinion, that'd be more someone who never saw a game all season and then went out and bought a Jersey and acted like they were waiting for this moment forever. I know... you don't agree.

The point is they aren't doing anything to hurt you, they aren't taking away from the Hawks. They are just supporting Chicago and it's hockey team.

So it's great that YOU have the financial means to support the team and attend all those games. Not everyone has the financial means to do so, and I do not believe it's very DISNEY-like (after all this is a Disney forum) to insult those that cannot afford to support the Hawks on the level that you do.

If the truth is an insult then so be it. I'm honest.

I already answered that question earlier. I don't like bandwagon fans who act like they were a part of the team's success.

I'm having a hard time believing you actually live in Chicago, let alone grew up here. Save for the rivalry between the Sox and the Cubs;), we, as a city, come out to celebrate all of our team's victories. It's a win for the team, a win for our city, which is the greatest city in the world.:)

It's city pride and we want our teams to win. It runs very deep.

The fact you can't grasp that concept leads me to believe you haven't lived here very long.

Oh I grasp it. The problem I have is when the team was bad, and that was very recent, where was everyone? Merchandise didn't sell, nobody went to the game's (you couldn't give tickets away), tv ratings were horrid!! And now they win, and everyone is "I'm the biggest Blackhawks fan in the World, yay 4 me, I'm soooooo cool."

Annoying!

No, you still don't grasp it. You're complaining about the parade that we had because we won the Stanley Cup. People were out celebrating the win for the team AND the city of Chicago. When we were losing, there was no parade, was there?

I am glad that we had this season because it opened up a whole new group of people to hockey, and now they can work on becoming fans that fit your standards.:)

We? You're a player? Patrick? Dustin? Is that you?

Yes, I am.

Okay, done discussing. Should have said THEY won, you're right.

I'm sorry you can't just enjoy the win. That's really too bad.

Oh believe me, I enjoy it tremendously, especially when I was sitting right behind the glass, for Game 5 :thumbsup2

Not at all. You said
Going to games is a requirement for "real" fans. The rest are just bandwagoners and wannabees
So going to concerts are a requirement for "real" fans too. The rest are just bandwagoners and wannabees.

Season ticket holders pay for the salaries of the players my friend. :thumbsup2

Tickets, advertising, merchandise sales...

And there are plenty of teams that have great players that didn't win the Cup. Sorry, you're going to need to keep dreaming. Unless you were on the ice scoring goals or blocking shots, you had NOTHING to do with the wins.

No.

You know, I'm betting that the boys on the team, the coaching staff, the owners, and all involved probably don't exactly agree with Dismagic1's stance on this issue!!:rotfl:

Unless they would gladly give away all the money these "bandwagon fans" are going to bring in for the team.:rotfl:

I would gladly take some bandwagon money off their hands, if they do decide to offer it. ;)

You mean the folks who can't afford to go to the games? What money?
