Plan of attack or just race out and hope for best

Depends on what is on sale. If there is something very specific I want, I will try to go to that store early and get it (or buy online if that is available). If I am not looking for anything specific, just go out and see what I find.

I base my plan of attack on the ads. If there is something I really want, I will hit that store or line first. I usually go with DH, my aunt and my cousin so it helps that all of us split up and get items for each other.

Where are you planning to go this year? I am eagerly awaiting the ads!

I always have a plan of attack. If there isn't a specific item I want, I go to the store with the earliest sale. I try to stay OUT of TRU unless they have something I really, really want at a really, really low price--the fight just isn't worth it.

Last year I was at Home Depot at 4:30 to get a really good deal on a pre-lit Christmas tree. They also had shop vacs for a good price. It was CRAZY for about 30 minutes until all the trees and all the shop vacs were gone!

Plan of attack.

We are already looking at the ads, figuring out who is doing what in our "divide and conquer" method.

We are ready. :woohoo:

This is us. After dinner and before we start playing eucher, DH, the neices, DD and I all sit on the floor with the ads and go over our game plan. Target or JCPenny has been for the last several years our 1st stop.

My big item will be bought tomorrow (a tv from Walmart for DD19), then everything else will be bought on BF as I find it.

Plan of attack-
get up whenever, open netbook, log-on and shop in my jammies :surfweb:

If DW thinks it's necessary she'll venture out on black Friday, wouldn't expect any strategic maneuvering on her part. I'll be home eating leftovers and shopping on-line.:)

My plan of attack is to have my shopping done by then, and spend Black Friday decorating the house for Christmas and listening to Christmas music. :)

I went out early on Black Friday one year. Never again. Not worth it at all with those ridiculous crowds. Yikes!

Definitely plan the attack. After getting the things we really want/need we can then wander around and watch the other crazies. :)

I have shopped BF for years, but lately the deals just haven't been there IMO. (I did score a great deal on a laptop for DH last year but was able to get it online.)

I would never leave home without a detailed plan of attack, though, based on the earliest store openings and what I most want. If you can get it online, go for that. :surfweb: Best Buy is a good one for doing that...and free shipping usually! I check the ads on the BF sites as soon as they are posted and make a tentative plan, then pour over the ads from the paper just to confirm everything. :coffee:

It used to be more fun shopping BF b/c there were fewer people and everyone was wearing their holiday duds and in a great mood. :santa: Now it seems more cut-throat pirate: and far removed from what it used to be. Kohls at 3AM?? :joker: Seriously? :crowded:

Have fun all you shoppers and I hope you get the deals you want! pixiedust:

I somewhat disagree about the deals not being there. Last year we got a 42" flat screen TV at Walmart for $250! They had it online as well but for $299. I'd love to be able to do BF shopping from home on my laptop, but I have noticed that the in-store savings are greater.

I'm thrifty and don't mind crowds (I've done disney in August:rotfl:) so to me the savings are worth it. Its an experience for sure

just saw Kohls opens at 3am this year!
Guess thats my first stop

I was just looking at that!! Already have a list of several items!!

Some stores do offer similar deals online that they have in the store but you will have to pay shipping, so it may or may not be a good deal.

Last year, WalMart had a digital frame for $30--its normall like $75, a heated throw for < $20 and a good deal on jump drives. All great but not enough to miss my tree at Home Depot. They had all of those online too and I used "ship to store" so no shipping. Old Navy had the same sales too. Their line was UNREAL last year, after going there first I decided it wasn't worth missing the other sales, so I left and went on to Home Depot. I got dd the same jeans and shirts for the same prices online after I got back from shopping in the stores. I think I still paid shipping but it was a special on that too. (maybe $5 shipping or something)

Black Friday in a store :rotfl2: not my cup of tea as they say. Heard too many horror stories and IMHO sales are not hat great for me to get up at 4 AM on my day off to spend hours getting shoved around by bargain hunters.

Most BF sales start early online and I'm more looking forward to Cyber Monday.

Plan of attack.....skipping BF, I'll be packing for Disney as I leave the next morning.

luvsJack- have you seen any other of the 'big' ads yet? I keep stalking blackfriday.com
