There are a few things I want to get at Walmart, but they go on sale on Thursday at 6pm. We will be at family's house and dinner will be around that time, so I can't go to the store. Is it possible to order the items online. The items are a Mario Cart WiiU game and Beats headset. Nothing big like a tv.

Is it possible to get these items on-line?:confused3

You can try some stuff can be bought online. also you could try your walmart once you get done eating sometimes you can still buy stuff after madness is over and it will be stuff you would never have thought would b left.

I have been able to get some things online, but never know what till day of. I usually have a list, get everything I can online, and then go to the store to get what I couldn't get online. The video game I would say prob, the headset would be a maybe. Just have to try and see.

Thanks. I will see what is available on-line and if not, I have found a friend who is going shopping and will try to get my items if I don't get them on-line. I did actually find the beats online at walmart for $99 but the only color available is black:(

Agree. I would also start trying early as you never know when the online sales start. I have never gone to Walmart on BF, however last year the beats headphones lasted at our local Target for most of the weekend.

Since you will not be anywhere near the start of the line, I would not cut my meal short. You would regret it if you rush out and find they are already sold out.

I've wondered if you buy something today at Walmart and will the discount the price if you go back while the sale is going on and honor the sale price?

or maybe even use that walmart app that gives you the money back based on the lower price found..

Often the things on the front page are generally not available online. We have done the bf at Walmart the last few years. Our store is very organized but crowded. We have used the guarantee too. Keep in mind that if the event starts at 6 or 8 they do reach capacity and will not be able to enter the store. Also if you have a friend going, and they want to get a hot item and will have to stand in line. If they are standing in their own line, they can't stand in line for your item at the same time. This is why we go. We are line standees for my daughter. So the line for a hot lap top will be in one area while the iPad's might be elsewhere in the store. You can not leave the line except for bathroom breaks, as there are monitors at different parts of the line. Strict but organized. The days of running in and grabbing are gone now. We have waited 2 hours in line one year. If you use the 1 hour guarantee that works well. We used it last year. You get in line before the event time and get a number. At exactly 6 or 8 the numbers are fulfilled. Once they run out you get a voucher. You go online and pay for your item and it arrives a few weeks later. Last year many people thought they could arrive about 7:55 to get in line for the 8:00 event only to find the store was at capacity and they could not enter and could not get the guarantee voucher. Hope my first hand experience helps. Hope your store is as organized as ours.

Thanks for the explanation. :)

DD26 and I are going for the 50 inch TV set. We'll get to Walmart before 6 (probably 5:30). We don't care about getting the TV set that day; in fact it might be better if we get the voucher since I'm not sure how we'd get the TV home (we'll have access to a pick-up truck the following week).

My questions:

1) What are the chances of us getting the TV set that day vs. getting a voucher? (Probably depending on how many TVs, how many want the TVs and how early do we get to WM).

2) Does the person with the voucher have to be the person picking up the item? We're actually buying the TV for the owners of the pick-up truck (my inlaws who will be out of town).

3) I know they guarantee the item by Christmas. What if the item comes a day or two before Christmas? Will they hold it until after the holidays? My inlaws and I are leaving for Louisiana to visit my other daughter (DD27) the weekend before. worst case scenerio: DD26 could pick it up since she's not flying down until Christmas Eve.

Thanks for insight! That helps with my planning;)

One year we got the tv and we were way back at the end. Last year we got the voucher. It came in in a couple of weeks and the owner did not have to pickup. I think there was probably a date that you had to pick up by. Sorry I couldn't provide more info.

The 1 hour guarantee items, including the beats are in store only.

Also, be aware that if you get the voucher for the TV instead of a physical tv that night, do not expect the one that comes in to be the same brand as was in the store Thanksgiving night. That was the subject of many complaints last year. The voucher involved substitutions. People still got the same size TV, but some of the ones were brands no one had heard of, and a lot of people were not happy.

As far as the beats, those were a really big item last year, and there were also a lot of complaints in regard to the vouchers there because they were substituting whatever color was available when they sent them out. People were getting colors that they knew their kids were going to hate. There were also a lot of people that were not happy about that. Seems like there was a thread on here last year about that.

We did the mini ipad from there last year. We got there about 4:30 to get in line, and they were giving wristbands out already for the mini ipads they had in stock. There was no line for a wristband at that time. Seems like one of the colors may have been out (maybe the white?), or they only had one left of them at that point, but we didn't care about what the back looked like as it is going to be in a case anyway, and they still had plenty of wristbands left at that point. We got a wristband and were guaranteed to physically get a mini ipad and all we had to do was come back that night before 8:00. We stayed around the store until 6:00 as we did not want to leave and come back, and we wanted to get home as quick after 6 as we could, and were out of the store and on our way home a few minutes after 6. After wandering the store a while we got in line to pick ours up and were 1st in line at 5:30. About that same time, 5:30, they ran out of wristbands and started doing vouchers. Actually, they made people get in a separate line to get the vouchers, as they did not physically start handing those out until 6:00 p.m. They were also doing wristbands for a couple of other of the 1 hour guarantee items- I know there was a tv they were doing them for in our store. Those also ran out before the actual sale start time- and a line for vouchers starting at 6:00 was set up. I don't know if they did wristbands for the beats. I do know that at 6:00 p..m. when the black Friday sale started it was total chaos- people running and grabbing. We were watching from where we were at the front of the line back by automotive to simply pay for our mini ipad and walk out. It was crazy in there!

My wife and I were at the beach last Thanksgiving and we went immediately after lunch to Target to wait in line and got there at around 1:55. We were Numbers 1 and 2. Numbers 3 walked up about 10 minutes later and Numbers 4 and 5 were there by 2:45. I mentioned the numbers because the sale started at 8 pm and they had 5 of the 50 inch tvs. The first five of us took the 5 tickets for those 5 tvs. By 8 o' clock the line was all the down the sidewalk, across the parking lot and, after a left hand turn, out to the street. The moral of the story, if you want the biggest deal, you typically have to wait the longest time. I didn't mind though, as I think that was the only 7 hours last year of adult time with no kids and we got to spend the time together :)

Can this be a Black Friday question section? Lol

So normally when I shop at target for their "gift card" deals, I will do it in two transactions. For example, I will buy two packs of paper towels that result in a $5 gift card in the first transaction. This way I can use the $5 in the next transaction. Will I be able to do the same thing at target on Black Friday? Or will they have different rules for the use of the gift cards?
Thanks!!
