I would bet a few laptops at 199 will be offered just like in stores, very limited quantities.......just fyi, sometimes online sales start Thanksgiving day, Thanksgiving night, at midnight on black friday. I also have been disappointed due to lack of availability in the stores, then came home online and found what i needed usually with free shipping.

Also more advice, try going back later in the day if you miss out, folks pick up things then decide they don't want them, put them down randomly. Midafternoon the store clerks have made rounds and might have what you missed, just ask.

Do you think I will be able to get the same LAPTOPS advertised at BB and CC online instead of standing in the lines?

If it's an item listed as "Minimum of 10 in store" or something like that... you might have a rough time getting it online, but if there aren't any stipulations like that it will probably be offered online. I had great luck buying Playstation games and DVDs through CC last year on BF. TRU was also great for shopping online last year on BF.

Amazon has also gotten into the habit of doing crazy things on BF. I bet you'll have a shot at a laptop through them at a good price. Who knows what crazy thing they'll come up with this year!

I'm hoping for that, too. Both of my kids want laptops as their big gift from Santa. I'm hoping for the $199 ones this year. They will be 9 and 11, so I don't need anything fancy. We are expecting a new baby in May, and we found out this morning we may have a chance to buy our "dream" house soon (dh's aunt died, and her daughters told us that if their brother doesn't want the house, they want to sell to us!). So we really don't need to tie up too much money!

Check you homeowner's insurance before this purchase-some companies will now cancel your insurance or refuse to write you if you have a trampoline. This was one of the 1st questions we were asked last year!

Any good deals on a desktop with flat screen monitor or gps? Our desktop is so old and it takes forever to get online (we have cable so it should be faster). I would love to get a gps but I'll take the desktop as the most important. Thanks. Last year, we got up and was able to get a 56" hdtv but it had been on sale during the week at Sears but I was able to get a couple of sweatsuits for xmas gifts for half price. I have a newborn so I'll go out now if the desktop is for a really good deal. I'll have to check online on thanksgiving first.
