Black Friday Buddies 2011 Unite!

Is the Best Buy ad out yet? I just get "page could not be found" when I click on the Best Buy link.

I see that Target has a cheap 46" Westinghouse TV. Is Westinghouse really so awful?
If you'll come up here and help me get rid of my old tube tv and set up my new Westinghouse (that everybody in a thread I started earlier in the week tells me is horrible because it's 1080i and not 1080p, even though they don't know what I've been putting up with :rotfl: ), you can see for yourself.

It's supposed to be okay. Not great, not terrible. My brother the tv expert says, "as long as it's not a Coby..."

I was also wondering, when do the Walmart Thanksgiving items that go on sale Thur at 10pm go onsale online? Or is it at the stores only?

I want that Xbox 360 with the Kinnect for $199, plus a $50 gift card...... must. have. that disneyland park game. Haha.

thanks, anyone who has experience with Walmart on Black Friday.

Would other retailers match the price? (without the $50 gift card) Sears used to.

So I just finished looking at Best Buy and Target (have not yet looked at Walmart). I've been mainly looking for a TV. Based on last year having 24" for $200 I was assuming there would be 32" for $200. I ended up buying the 32" 720p on sale at Target last week but that same tv (westinghouse vs samsung) is on sale for $277. Doesn't seem like that much of a deal.

Then I looked at Best Buy and they have a 42" for $200. Even with only 10 per store that's insane. Not something I would stay in line for but the people who get it that a REALLY good deal.

I havent been to impressed with the ads so far this year. I used to love shopping, what happened to me :confused3

Nothing happend to you. Nothing has come out that is new. So the stores really dont have much to deal with. I feel the same way. Nothing is grabbing me either.

I guess you just go online at thier site on BF? Is it any better than Cyber Monday? :confused3

Can anyone fill me in about how shopping online for Black Friday works??

Do they have the deals in the ads available online as well? Does it vary by store or type of item?

I've never done online BF shopping before but this year I'm considering it, specifically for Best Buy. That's the one store that I fear going to on Black Friday! :rotfl2:

ETA: I'm also thinking about Old Navy online too. I don't mind going to the store, but I need longs in a lot of their items (I've got arms like a monkey & legs like a giraffe, lol) and they only carry that version of their items online.

Is it me or are the toy selections this year just mediocre? I mean quite a bit of them are on sale now for the same price or just a few bucks more. I did get her the spyro and will be buying it for 20 bucks cheaper and returning the other one to Kmart, but that is all I see that is a big price difference from what I already have on layaway vs. Black Friday sales.

Hi all:)

I've never done BF shopping online. I don't have a Walmart in my area, but I see they have an electric scooter in their ad for just $69!!! Can you buy exactly what is advertised in their ad online or is there a special BF for online buyers? IF you can buy online what time should I try. I am in CA.

Thanks so much for your!!!!!:thumbsup2

Does best buy offer the black friday deals online? If so will the 199.00 42 inch tv be offered online?

The best answer I can give is sometimes. Last year I got a 19" Flat screen for my daughter online on Thursday. It was so nice not to get up early on Friday. I a hoping they will again this year as I do have my eye on one product. I will be checking the internet throughout the day in case anyone matches.

If an item is available on-line for the sale at ToysRUs, can it be ordered 9pm Eastern time? That would be great! Wouldn't even have to leave the house. It has the order number under the item and is available to order now, so I'm assuming it will be available on Thanksgiving - just want to be sure with time zones, etc. :surfweb:

Never mind - I found the Best Buy ad elsewhere.

I also found this at ph.corporate-ir.net:

On Nov. 25, the hottest Black Friday deals on must-have holiday gifts will be available even earlier when Best Buy opens its doors at 12 midnight. In more than 20 key markets, the retailer also will host a major cinematic event at its stores at 9 p.m. local time, details of which will be announced in coming days.

"At Best Buy, we're focused on creating an unparalleled shopping experience for our customers," said Barry Judge, Best Buy's executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "Black Friday is just the beginning. This commitment will come to life throughout the holiday season in a variety of offers and initiatives that give customers great values and the most convenient ways to shop for everyone on their list."

Interesting.

I also have an old tube TV so no deal. ;) I still have the Sony Trinitron that weighs a zillion pounds. I can't believe that it's still (sort of) working. :rotfl:

Same here. I used to LOVE BF, but this year the only thing I'm even interested in is long sleeved girl's shirts for $3. How sad is that? :rotfl: Granted we don't need anything electronic and DD's big wish is a Lalaloopsy doll but still... I've yet to see any item that worth braving the madness. Of course Amazon's sales also go a long way to spreading the thrill over a longer period of time. :thumbsup2

I went to check it out today at my neighborhood Target. There was a big blank area where it WAS! I really wanted to see what kind of picture it had. There was another Westinghouse there but it was an LED, not an LCD. None of the associates were any help, either. :confused3 The price is so great I really don't CARE how bad it is..

EllenFrasier: I haven't looked at exactly what you are looking at but this week I went on Kohls BF ad for a Kuerig. It had a BF price and it said Buy Now. I hit Buy Now and it went into the Cart for the BF price. With a 30% and 15% off coupon, along with BF price, I got a Kuerig, Special Edition B60 for $89 before tax, saved about $100.

See if you can purchase now and just do it and don't have to wait another 2 weeks.

Interesting.

Our local Best Buy is showing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2. Pretty good idea considering how early people line up. DH wants a TV in the BF ad, but hated the idea of being in line for 3+ hours. Now he's looking forward to it!

We found the camera Canon T3i at B&H photo and newegg. Now to figure out which deal is the best out of them all. I also considered that tax will be $45 and that cuts into the "deal". I need to sit down and figure out how much the extras cost, and out of BB, Wal-mart online special right now, and newegg, who has the best deal.

We have a memory card and bag already.

So now driving 2 hours to city for me to have to stand in line for 2 hours. I am going to find this camera online now.

I bet that I'm interested in the same TV. I wonder how early we'll have to line up for it.
