Black Friday Buddies 2011 Unite!

So with Walmart starting sales at 10PM, I'm not sure what the strategy will be. Our Walmart is open 24 hours (not sure if they all are now) so if I get there at 9pm and find the pallet that has the stuff on it that I want, is that soon enough? I'd like to digest my turkey before heading out the door!;)

I read that they will start with toys at ten but electronics wont be "unwrapped" till midnight...

Guess they're hoping you'll come in their store and then stay? But once you are in, and you want one of the 15 or so TV's in the ad - I see a nightmare happening... I'll never forget the trampling that killed someone at Walmart one year to get their Black Friday deal...

And what is horrible is you have to be in the line for the TV, you cant get out of line and you have to be there EARLY to get the best deals. I hate when they do double openings. I think its dumb I wish they would all just open up for everything at one time like the good ol' days

I'm just here waiting for Target's complete ad and also Best Buy's. I'm hoping to score a cheap TV. I agree that getting one at Wal-Mart is too hard!

Office Max is available - I don't know about on their websie, but the Gotta Deal and BFads.net apps (so, websites) have them. And Walgreens seems to be just a couple of pages.

I found Target's add much better than the others. Are the Doorbusters available at midnight or 5 am? Also, how do they do "big ticket" items like Tvs, iPods, etc... Is it one per person? I've never done an early morning at Target, but I've been to Walmart (years ago), and it was a ticket system. You could only hold one ticket to each big item. All the lines for tickets opened at once, so you had to pick the one you wanted the most and hope the tickets hadn't run out on the others before you got there.

Is anyone planning on purchasing items before bf and then get a price adjustment on bf?

I read last year that more stores are refusing to do that because it is cheating the system. I would plan to wait in line and and buy on BF.

Has anybody seen portable digital TVs on sale in this year's ads? I got one last year at kohl's but didn't see it this year...

Can you get walmart door busters online? Is everything but electronics at 10.

I would like to know also? We are in the market for DSLR camera and now I have to pick between the Canon T3i and Nikon D3100. Then I have to pick Best buy or Walmart. I can't remember if Target has a camera?

But I would really like to have my laptop and just order online.

Is the Best Buy ad out yet? I just get "page could not be found" when I click on the Best Buy link.

I see that Target has a cheap 46" Westinghouse TV. Is Westinghouse really so awful?

Can anyone fill me in about how shopping online for Black Friday works??

Do they have the deals in the ads available online as well? Does it vary by store or type of item?

I've never done online BF shopping before but this year I'm considering it, specifically for Best Buy. That's the one store that I fear going to on Black Friday! :rotfl2:

ETA: I'm also thinking about Old Navy online too. I don't mind going to the store, but I need longs in a lot of their items (I've got arms like a monkey & legs like a giraffe, lol) and they only carry that version of their items online.

Does Best Buy have the T3i? I only see the T3 in the Walmart ad?

Yes, Best Buy does have the T3i, for $799.99. It comes with an 18-55 IS lens and the bonus is a free UV filter, 8 GB memory card and camera bag.

I would be tempted but told DH I would wait until next year for the DSLR, plus it's BB and they scare me on BF. :lmao:

Walmart online is having the D3100, so I think that's what the PP means about deciding between Walmart and BB.

Thank you!! I am not sure thats the best deal for us. We have several lenses already and the body only is $679 on amazon. I will be surely thinking about that deal though!
