Black Friday Buddies 2011 Unite!

The only store Im waiting to release an ad is Bass Pro. Almost 100% of my Christmas shopping is done there. The look and smell of their stores...YUM. They also have a rewards card that simply can't be beat. C'mon Bass Pro......release that ad!!

I totally agree! I was just saying that to my sister. I can never go to sleep early on Thanksgiving night. For one thing, I'm full and all wound up from doing all the cooking. Then there's the ads from the newspaper to go through even though I've seen most of the deals on-line beforehand. Going over lists of what to get whom and where. I'd rather just take off at 11:30pm and get in the store at midnight and get it done in a couple hours, go home and sleep until 9 or so and then start off in the mall to experience the hub-bub of black Friday. Come-on all stores get on board...:wizard:

It looks like this is the year of the midnight opening, so you'll get your wish. We've already heard about midnight openings at Target, Kohls, Macys, JC Penneys, and Toys R Us I think. I'm sure we'll see the same from Walmart.

What stinks is that half of the stores I want to hit are opening at 12am, and half of the stores are opening at 5am. GAH. No midnight opening for us... we'll be doing the 5am thing again this year I guess.

Is there a good deal this year on the wii? I haven't seen one yet. I did see a couple of deals on wii games though. Thanks!

Updated first page with new ad links. There is a link to Walmart Super Saturday Sale this weekend and Sears Friends and Family sale on Nov. 13th.

Everything I have seen on JC Penney says its a 4am opening, as they want to keep the same opening time from 2010 and also want to give the 'early risers' a fresh batch of merch when the other stores have been picked over already.

I'm really looking forward to BF this year. My only problem is my DH, DD, and DS have NOT given me Christmas lists yet so I have no idea what they want! I gave them a deadline of Nov. 15 and then they get what I want to give :rotfl:

I amost wish everyone opened at Midnight, I'd rather stay awake, shop for a few hours and then go home and go to bed, instead of getting up so darn early.

I agree. I don't normally go out on BF because I don't want to get up early, wait in lines and deal with the craziness. If the stores open at Midnight I'd go out since I'd already be awake anyway and then I could sleep late in the morning.

I am needing to get a 32GB Ipod Touch this year. Right now Target has a 10% of Ipod coupon out and if you buy the 32 you get a $20 GC. I'm not sure if I should just get it now or wait until BF now that they are opening at midnight.

I would buy that at Target now, you have 90 days to return, so if you find something better, you could return it.

I think I am the only one who is not happy about this midnight stuff. I really need the stores to stagger their opening so that it is not such a frenzy to choose where to go.

At least I do not have a ton to get this year.

As of right now I think my plan will be to hit Target at midnight (depending on their deals) then go back home and sleep for a few hours and then head out to the mall around seven. I don't think that will be as much fun as last year but you have to work with what you're given right?

I just added CVS BF Ad Scan. Also the first page of next week's Target Ad scan has leaked and here are the two items listed:
Westinghouse VR3215 32" 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV and Acer A0722-0473 11.6" Notebook will be on sale for $197 this Sunday, November 6.

I'm not happy either! The staggered openings have made it much easier for me to get everything on my lists. Last year I was at the mall at midnight, then stopped at home to drop off my stuff, then stood in line at Target for their opening. Got everything I needed and was home by 6 am.

How are people going to do that this year? Wouldn't it cause more stress trying to decide what's most important when you want 4 items at 2 different stores that are both opening at the same time?

nope, I'm with you on this one. I'm really bummed about the midnight thing. I don't like it at all. I like getting up early to stand in line with a bunch of strangers in the freezing cold. Now I don't know if I want to just stay up to go out after Thanksgiving dinner. I think that it will just make the crowds be a lot more this year and I don't know if I want to deal with that. It makes me super anxious to be around that many people fighting and pushing. It might be an online year for me. Sad to break tradition.

As for everything I've read on BF websites, TRU will be opening at 10pm (not midnight). Target, Macy's and Kohls (so far) will be opening at 12 midnight, and JCP will be opening at their usual 4am.

I don't mind the midnight opening, I never sleep on thanksgiving night in prep for BF anyway, but I'd love to see some stores leaning toward staggering their hours.

If all the big stores (Target, Walmart, BB, etc.) end up opening at the same time it'll be much harder to get what you want (especially if you want big doorbuster items) at each store.

In previous years we've been able to line up before opening at multiple stores back to back (TRU, then Target, then Kohls, BB&B, etc.) because they all opened at different hours but that doesn't seem like something we will be able to do this year.

We will be lining up earlier than ever this year, but no matter what it will still be a blast I'm sure. I'm certainly still hoping for some great deals to help make rushing from one midnight opening to the next worth it!

I agree I am a little disappointed with so many of the stores opening at midnight. We like to hit them as they open. I guess it will be which ever one we need to hit first based on what is in the ad.

Can't you shop in one store and buy things on-line in another store with your phone or whatever mobile device you have that can access the internet? From past experience, you will be in line a long time to pay for what you buy, so may was well get something productive done. :)

I do not like shopping online because I hate paying shipping and waiting for the packages to arrive. I guess it is an option for that long wait though! :goodvibes
