I just took a great roll of black and white film of my kids at the Chesapeake Bay. iI loved the way they looked and can't wait to scrap them. Has anyone taken a roll of Black and White at Disney. I wonder if black and white would take some of the magic out of the pictures???

Should I bother to bring my extra camera with black and white film??

I never thought of doing it before, but I bet they would turn out really nice. Keep us posted how they come out if you do decide to take it.

I think B&W Dis pics touched up with ZIG picture pens would be awesome -
example:
I took pics of my DS playing in his sandbox b&W and then colored in JUST the Tonka truck yellow - I LOVE them !

We are leaving in 57 days for WDW and this will be our first Digital Disney Trip so I am planning on using the B & W feature on the camera and taking some B & W park pictures! I can't wait to do a B & W Disney layout, I think it will look pretty cool...and different from all the other disney layouts I have done!

Wow never thought about using a zig pen!! Now my head is spinning with ideas!

Maybe i will take a few shots of some of the Disney highlights. Castle,Tree ect... and do a fun layout of just those. Wow some sights of Epcot might be really neat.

Wow I was just thinking about that too! I have never had much luck with disposable cameras. But my second camera is old and not too reliable.

I used a B&W disposable camera for our Disney trip this past May. It worked very well and I'm glad I have the B&W photos. I also took pictures of my kids at the parks with that camera and when I developed the film I really liked the pictures with my kids in them as opposed to just the castle or other landmark. I haven't scrapbooked my trip yet so I can't tell you how they look in a book, but I recommend trying it out!

If you are going to take B&W I would suggest reading some articles on how others have done them.

B&W's are great for people shots. The characters should look great. I would do closeups of them instead of full-body.

Also note that the disposable B&W cameras use the new film that is processed in the same chemicals as color. It is easier to process and cheaper because it is in the color process but it is not true B&W. It does look different ... not bad just different. If you have a 35mm film camera try some real B&W. Ask for Tri-X by Kodak.

Thanks so much for all your help!! I really can't wait now! I was worried that using black and white film on my kids might take away the excitemnt and joy on their faces. Disney is such a colorful place. But since I'm taking both types of film I really shouldn't worry.

Black and white pics of kids really are great. It makes you concentrate on the beauty of the children, and not the surroundings! I took a photograpgy class in college and we did everything in black and white. Instead of the zig pens, we used colored pencils on matte finish pics. They came out great, orange pumpkins on a b&w is my favorite... Be aware that the b&w film that develops using the color developing will actually give you sepia pictures, they will have a brown hue to them. I like tru b&w's and I think they are worth the extra couple of bucks for the film and processing. For a Disney album using b&w pics I would only use mickey color paper; red, black, yellow, and white and then the pics. Looks great!

I also prefer the true b/w, well worth the add'l $'s and time in processing. The pics from our Disney trip were wonderful. There is so much color at WDW you can't imagine the contrast of seeing it in b/w. The only tips I have are: simple backdrops are best; zoom in as much as you can; I'm always pleased with photos taken outside (indoor photos just don't look right in b/w to me).
