BL9 Friday Exercise Challenge - Kick of the challenge with a BANG!

I hope all the backs are feeling better tomorrow!

Assuming we don't have icy roads tomorrow morning, the plan is to hit the Y to start the year off. Happy New Year!!

I will be out with the Husky tomorrow....we BOTH need it!! 5 miles......

if it warms up a bit i may walk the dog around the block--it is just over 6 miles :-) or i'll pull the treadmill into the room with the tv and enjoy the parade of roses while i treadmill for 30+ min. i'm the only one in the family that likes the parade, so i usually get out voted. but me on the treadmill will scare them all away!:maleficen

Tomorrow is either an easy 2 miler on the ol' TM or a strength DVD. I'm not sure which at this point.

I'll hit the treadmill for 45 min tomorrow. I've been alternating eliptical one day, treadmill next. They got a new rowing machine at the Y, so I want to give that a try too.

I just set up my new Wii Fit Plus so I'm ready to get in a good workout tomorrow morning.

Are we posting if we achieve our goal?

I got my 2 videos in the mail today and I also bought Biggest Loser for Wii.

I love my Wii Fit Plus. My 7 year old is doing Yoga as I'm typing. It's great for the whole family.

Count me in! As in my title I am ready to be a Loser!

I am 56y/o, I am a wife of 38 years, my two son's are grown, married and have their own families. I have been an RN for 30 years! Don't see retirement yet on the horizon either. I am going back to school for my MSN starting in February, work full time and just have to stay active. I get bored easy and will really blimp up.

This October my sister and I were doing a Sister Trip to WDW for the Food and Wine Festival. While unpacking the car my R knee went out on me, pain is not even a good description. It was horrible pain, but I am determined to go it anyway. Made through Day 1 and 2 then on Day 3 I was in tears with each step. We called my Dr. and she phoned in a Rx to Orlando for me and we rented a wheelchair, much to my dislike for my ego mostly.

Day 4 we spent with my leg elevated on pillows and ice packs. By afternoon I was feeling semi ready to go, so we did. Day 5 I did not need a wheelchair, nor did I the rest of the week. But, I still was hurting. When I got home I did not go back to work I went to my family doctor and then the orthopedic surgeon:( One week later had an MRI and another week later back for results.
Meanwhile I am still in big pain, using a cane to get around. Results were you need arthroscopic surgery to repair the damages. But, guess what no can do until Dec. 2! So, I made it through TG and then came surgery. I am 4 weeks post op and finally the last 3 days not having the pain when walking. I do have alot of pressure within and swelling. I am doing more, but cannot go for
long before it starts getting that pressure and swelling.

I am restricted from squats, bending knee type exercises and carrying more than 25 lbs of weight. I have successfully put on 8lbs now and that puts me 30lbs from my weight loss goal. I need to get that off to make it better for my knees and I am determined that this is the time. I bought some of the Sketchers Shape up shoes and I will be using them because I can walk according to the surgeon, he actually said walking was good.

Long story I know but that is why I am here and glad you guys are here for me.

I will be following with you so, here we go..

Cindy:cool1:

Yep, count me in too! I plan to either walk on the TM or do an aerobics DVD tomorrow. I'm sure both my kids would get a kick out of watching me do the dvd, lol!

I'm in. Not sure if I will do WATP or my new BL Power Sculpt DVD... or both!! I am NOT running outside (plus I got a blister today, so I need to let it heal a bit) in this weather and snow...............P

You're on! I'll be hopping on the WiiFit Plus tomorrow for at least 30 minutes.

I am up for this. I will do something. Weather I get out and walk or start this exercise program my husgand got. :yay:

Morning all and Happy New Year!

I did my new BL Power Sculpt level 1 (love it!) and 2 mi WATP.... I finished 60 minutes. How is everyone else doing?..............P

Good morning everyone!

I would like to join this challenge as well. I did 30 minutes on the wii fit this morning and plan to do at least a mile on WATP before leaving for my Granny's this afternoon.

Count me in to exercise with you.
We just came back from our "forced march" to the creek. I say forced because it is blowing heavy snow here in southern Ontario, but not too cold. There's no trail through the fields so it's good leg work.
35mins of snow slogging to start the day!
Good luck to everyone:woohoo:

I'm in! Gonna walk outside with my mom in a little while and then will do 1 or 2 WATP workouts and hopefully some Wii Fit today. My mom and I each got a WATP DVD set and we are trying to decide which would be better for her. I think the one I got would be better for her with the stretchie. I prefer the ball or sometimes I use my 3 pound hand weights while doing the workout.

Time to go get dressed for our walk. Rest of the family is watching the Rose parade.

I should get back to my full workout routine next week by Wednesday. I usually do the WATP twice in the morning, one as soon as I get up and the other after putting DD1 on the bus. Later in the day I do either the elliptical or the Wii Fit. I got several workout things for Christmas so I have to set a schedule for myself to make sure I use all the new stuff!

Happy New Year! What a great way to start off the new year!

Happy new Year!

Just did 60 min on the treadmill and 100 crunches w/ the ab ball!

check that off my list!

Good luck to everyone!
