To use a saying by a comedienne Totie Fields of the 70's

"I've been on a diet for 3 weeks and all I have lost is 21 days"

Hopefully you won't feel that way this morning.

This is a journey not a sprint and we all need to take baby steps to reach our ultimate goal.

I was very nervous this morning. SO nervous that I couldn't work out. I didn't think I had lost anything. I got on the scale and was pleasantly surprised to see that since we have started I have lost 4.5 pounds.

I hope everyone else has a surprise as nice as mine.

Down three pounds this week! That's nine pounds since we began this journey! I know that the careful monitoring of calories via sparkpeople.com and the exercise vigil has made a huge difference. I even had mexican food twice last week, and with the allowances made on my daily calorie intake, I still lost weight!

GO BLACK TEAM!!!

Congratulations Trampslady and Dona on those awesome numbers!!!!:cool1:

I stayed the same this week. Not bringing much to the numbers of the team, but I don't want to quit. I want to get motivated and stay motivated.

This is a journey not a sprint and we all need to take baby steps to reach our ultimate goal.
This really helped me this morning. I'm only down .8 in 3 weeks, but I can't give up. Thanks Dona.

Good luck everyone!!! :cheer2: Go Black Team!!:cheer2:

Nice quote Dona!!! I needed that! I'm up .8 from last week!!!! ugh!!! I know it's my eating that did me it! I guess sometimes it takes these small little reality checks to get us back on track!!!

Good Job Dona and trampslady on your weight loss! That is great!!! :thumbsup2

Mikamah--Try not to get discouraged! You are DOWN!!! That is much better than UP! :)

I'm adding aquacise to my workout routine this week so hopefully that will help w/ next week's numbers!!!

Good luck to everyone else!!!

I'm down 2 pounds this week. I've been sick since Friday, so my exercise has been drastically reduced. Guess I've made up for it by not wanting to eat much of anything.

Good luck with weigh-ins this morning, everyone!

Hi All! Congrats on the weight loss!

I unfortunately gained .2...I guess its not bad but still wanted to lose. Its the TOM and I was craving everything under the sun....good news though, I am doing pretty well on the challenge.

Well, only down .5 pounds this week, but that's okay. I know it's because I've increased my workouts. I've done 3 ralks of 7 miles each and a couple of 5 mile ralks, but I've eaten well and gotten plenty of water! So I know eventually I'll see a loss. Although I remember being this weight before for a period of time so my body probably remembers it and thinks this is where it should stay   Not gonna happen. Hopefully next week will be better. Have a great day everyone!

I am down 5.6 pounds this week! That's 9 pounds altogether since I started WISH'ing. One more pound and I get my 10 pound clippie. I am SO HAPPY and SO EXCITED about this! (And I have posted my weight loss in about 15 places on WISH today - sorry for the repetition, but I am REALLY EXCITED.) Okay, I'll calm down now.:goodvibes

Hope we win - GO BLACK TEAM!!

HI SUSAN THAT IS GREAT NEWS! YOU MUST BE SO HAPPY ALL THAT HARD WORK IS PAYING OFF!!!!:dance3:

Half pound gain this week - sorry everyone. I was out of town for work so it was very hard to stick to my eating and exercise routine. Honestly, I'm prety lucky that it was only .5 lbs! Well back to it.

I have to eat some squash tonight as my second new food. Believe it or not, I've never had it b/c it looks so gross to me. I also tried something called a Plucot? I think it's called. It seemed like it was a cross between an apricot and plum so I think that was it. Anyway, that was great. So now it's the squash.

Hopefuly, I'll be able help out with our other challenge.

Are we going to have another one this week?

Congratulations to anyone who lost this week great job:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: For anyone who gained this week it couldn't be as bad as me last week but i really made up for it this week i lost 9 lbs:banana: I watched what i ate and drank alot of water this week. I cant believe it one more pound and i can have a 10lb in my sig. Thinking of that how do i get a black biggest loser for my sig. I need to spend more time working out but it the end of the quarter and i am in outside sales so i feel like im never home. (no excuse is what someone i know would tell me) I will make it my goal this week to spend more time working out. Everyone have a great night.
Amanda

ps how do we turn in our points for the challenge

Hello Black Team! I have been super bad about posting because I feel like I am holding the team back. I haven't really lost much... my guess is because I am gaining muscle because I'm exercising a lot and my clothes feel looser and I look better. But in this sort of competition, wearing my grey pants that I haven't worn for 4 months don't count :rotfl:

I'm really thrilled with my progress but I am hoping the scale decides to show some, too, so I can help my team out!!

I know its a competition but the scale is not always an indicator. Congratulation on the grey pants. I have a strange question for you, what is the dis 25k in your sig?

Not a strange question at all, Couch to 5k (C25K for short) is one of the best things I've ever done, and I LOVE to talk about it! C25k is a program from the website Cool Running that starts you from total newbie to runner in about 9 weeks. I'm in week 7 and LOVE it! I never thought I'd be a runner but I love how accomplished I feel once I am finished. It's even given me the confidence to start spinning.

The DIS thread for C25K is here: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1330720

The program is here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

We'd love to have you on our thread, if you are up to it!!

Don't forget that our challenge end tonight. Please total your points and either post them in this thread or pM them to me tomorrow morning. I will have the final % of losses so far in this challenge tomorrow.

Whether you had a loss or a gain or stayed the same we need to stick together. When you look at the other threads they talk to each other a lot more. We should be on this thread a lot more to support and encourage each other.

There is another challenge coming in the next day. Please check the thread tomorrow or the next day.

We are in this together and we need to be there for each other. Have a great evening.

In my next life I am coming back as a cheerleader. I am so not a rah rah girl because I am a total math geek. Just like I am so not a princess, villans are my favorite including Tinker Bell.

Donac is right, we need to be each other's biggest supporters.

It's just so encouraging to see so many people trying to do something positive for themselves, and, in turn, their families.

I know we can kick it up a notch. How about one positive post each day about our daily lives. It helps to maintain a positive self image as we struggle to lose the pounds, and feeling good about ourselves doesn't have to revolve around food and exercise.

I'll start.....today, I am glad that I was there to help my fellow coworkers when they needed me. We have so many new folks, and, as an "old timer" it's nice to pass along knowledge and build confidence in others.

I would love to join. I walked a 5k about 5 years ago and i'm doing the tower of terror 6.5k on the 27th of Oct. I like to walk/run but im not very fast. I need to start doing more of it. I like the high i get from it, If i did it more i would be in better shape.

You wouldn't we a old timer in my world we would call you a veteran and everyone would look up to you.(insert knealing smiley here)

My good news for today I'm a veteran/newbie and i had a very sucessful day today. 2 months ago i changed position(downsized) and took a 100% commission position. I am now making money and everyone says its because of my positive attitude.

Donac You are a cheerleader. I love your messages and your spirit!!!

Have a great night.
