Great pictures! Thought the captain looks kind of bored...
Hi Sue and other interested folks,
I have a story about Gastric Bypass and its a personal story. My intention in sharing is not to disparage gastric bypass as this surgery has been a miracle for many people, but to offer the seldom heard otherside of the surgery.
Do you still have a plan lined out for you to reach that goal of the 1/2 marathon?
La la la (fingers in ear - I mean hands over eyes)- Haven't seen it - pretending I didn't see any of this, lol!
Okay, it's been not a good OP day. Tomorow is going to be better day.
Hi Eeyores Butterfly. I had my last physical Dec 2007 and the doctor was concerned because my blood glucose levels were in prediabetic range. The doctor wanted me to follow a sensible diet for 1 week and then come back in to be rechecked. Well, I'm embarrassed to tell you that I have not been back. My plans were to lose a lot of weight and then go back and hope all my numbers were better. I'm just afraid she's going to tell me I'm diabetic. I did buy a glucose meter at cvs last week so I could start monitoring my own levels. So I'm not the best support person until I get my act together!
Some pictures for inspiration
I do not even think this was at my heaviest

Vija - And congrats on getting that board broke. Master's right... remember, when water does it's erosion thing all at once it's called a disaster. But when it takes it a little bit at a time it's called building a landscape. A day's worth of calories in well buttered popcorn, huh? Hmmmmm..... can't decide if I should fast to be able to do it or just not do it. But that's okay... I go to the movies like once or twice a year. They're just too expensive. So while it's definitely a temptation, it's not one that's at all sometehing I have to deal with often.
Quick check-in!
My scale is down - YEAH! Even though I got a late start in getting on track this week, I think it's going to be a really successful week.
Keep up the great work everyone, BLUE TEAM rocks!
One of my DH coworkers is good friends with the Orange team on the BL. His coworker was going to a party last night to celebrate the BL show with them. I told my DH to ask his coworker today how they looked now. If I find out anything, I'll share.
Congratulations Vija! You inspire me to the max - I love it that you never quit, and I cannot imagine doing martial arts. I think that you are very brave and inspirational.
I do have a training plan, but illness has put me behind. I was quite week when I started (only started eating again last Wednesday - since August 30th) - it was hard to even walk a mile this morning.
The plan is slow and steady wins the race - I have to keep doing it, and doing it until I get back to where I was before and beyond.
It is really an endurance trek - I have 7 hours to finish the half in Florida and pretty much unlimited time on the 10k.
Endurance will be built up daily, and I am starting to blog the journey.
Hope everyone has a great day/week.
Linda

Well my feet are killing me today I have been walking around the shops since 9am and it is now 5pm. I have not eaten well but I will be starting on Sunday for real.
I am happy to share my daily menus from them if no one minds?q
It's lunchtime and it's day two of being totally on track (even had tiramisu for lunch yesterday, but it worked into my calories).
It feels so much better to be in control. WHEW!
The dad from the yellow team really needs to stay and get healthy. The grey team, orange and brown also - REALLY need to be there. The red team needs this me time to improve their health as I am sure they haven't had much me time. And with hubby being away for the past few months, I know what not having me time can do for your health. I gained about 10-13 pounds in the past two months from not having any me time to focus on watching what I ate or exercising. Basically I'm down to no exercise and was eating whatever I could get in my stomach the quickest (unfortunately it was a lot of fast food and restaurants, even though I know they aren't good for us). Thank goodness for this challenge and DH coming home this weekend.
Today I was early and was able to walk a 1/2 mile and then run a 1/2 mile before they showed up. We then walked 2 1/4 miles together.
Guess what I found on Comcast On Demand this morning? Workout videos! So I did a 20 min workout this morning and had jello legs when I got to work. But I felt sooooooo good about myself.
So then for lunch we go to this barbeque place that I like. I should have had the salad but I decided to have the pulled pork with some garlic mashed taters. Of course, the were out of the potatos so I ended up getting fries. Ugh! Oh well..... back on track right now.
And I still worked out so that's got to be worth something.
I'd never seen a BL first episode before, I really enjoyed last night's show. Was anyone else completely blown away by the doctor's simulations of the fat covered lungs?
Princess Vija- Wow! You're my hero w/your board breaking. You rock girl!
Hi Everybody:
I watched BL last night for the first time ever! I thought it was pretty interesting, but I didn't like how the female trainer browbeat the contestants. Just not my cup of tea, I guess. Next week I plan to tape it so I can FF through those parts. I liked and cared about all the teams and hope to see all of them do well.
I weighed in last night at my Weight Loss Support Group and lost 1 pound (That makes a total of 71.) Yea for meI
One thing I have learned at my weight loss group is to recognize "All or nothing thinking" and put a stop to it. If you make a poor food choice its easy to say, "Well, I have blown it for today. I might as well eat whatever I want and start over tomorrow." This thinking is really self-defeating. The time to stop is NOW, not tomorrow.
