BL Challenge~ BLUE TEAM~ Week 6

What I love about this board is that it is a good place to go in good weeks and bad- I am thrilled with my results last week and very proud of my overall effort. That being said- I can smell the Halloween candy from a mile away and candy corn is my favorite. My only choice to continue success with this challenge is to set a really hard goal for the week: NO CANDY :scared1:

Hypermommy and Melanie-thank you for having the guts to share your struggles with this challenge. I am thrilled to be a part of such a supportive and honest team that realizes that we are all trying to learn skills for the long term greater good/health.

My non-weight goal is to prepare my outfit for the following work day with comfort in mind (wear the fat panties during that time of the month instead of wearing the creepers that end up making me uncomfortable and irritable). I find that trying to wear skinny clothes on fat days makes me twice as miserable.

Biggest Loser was okay tonight, but the final clip with Amy and her Autistic son was beautiful. She has learned to have new dreams for her son and herself- that is awesome!:yay:

Ok- I did good today (on the high end of my calories) - but it's a success. The bad thing is - I'm starving right now, but I know that just means I've been eating way too much lately and my stomach is like what the heck - you've been feeding me more than this. I just have to get used to the lower calories AGAIN, lol.

I can do this.........WE CAN DO THIS!

Here is the recipe for the muffins...found it on spark people. These turned out good, were filling and everyone liked them.

Applesauce Oatmeal Muffins
Submitted by JOJOMKE

Ingredients

1 cup old fashion rolled oats (not instant)
1 cup non-fat milk
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 egg whites
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. sugar
raisins or nuts (optional)

Directions

Soak the oats in milk for about one hour.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Spray muffin pan with cooking spray.
Combine the oat mixture with the applesauce and egg whites, and mix until combined.
In a separate bowl measure and whisk the dry ingredients together.
Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until just combined. Add nuts or raisins if desired.
Do not over mix the batter or the muffins will be tough. Spoon muffin mixture into muffin pan.
Combine the cinnamon and sugar and top each muffin with some of the mixture.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until done.
Remove from pan, cool and enjoy.
These can be frozen and reheated in the microwave for a quick breakfast.

Congrats and WTG on your hard work Shelley :cool1: :cool1: . Blue team had a great week and boy we were so close to 1st place, we can do it next week!! Good going everyone.

Just wanted to drop in and say Hi!! I'm Jen and the newest member of the blue team YAY  (I'm a huge fan of the dancing banana man)!! Anyways I'm going to head over to the COW board and take a look at what I can do.

A little about myself I'm a school teacher so I'm going to try the taking a walk around the track during my lunch hour this week (I always bring my lunch). I also really really need to drink more water!!

I hope to lose a total of 64 pounds but would like to lose 20 before my trip to Disney and be in better shape for all the walking I will have to do. I'm going by myself and my hubby has given me an added incentive that if I can get to my goal weight we can take the Disney Cruise that I have been dying to go on. So he's definitely a big supporter for me!!

Hi everyone,
My screen name is minnie witch, but don't worry I'm a good witch he he.:rotfl2: My actual name is Jen. I'm a huge fan of Biggest Loser Fan and new to the disboards. I know I'm starting late but to be fair I started my journey the season opener of Biggest loser about a month ago or so. I've lost seven pounds but it's so hard to do it alone. I'm so happy I found you guys, not only do we have the same goal but I found people who share my same passion for all things disney. I'm working for a 2010 Disney cruise. I know its a long ways away but I'm looking for a new lifestyle/healthly living. I want to lose it and keeping it off is the challange. Right now I'm on the eliptical its a first for me. I figured as much time as I spend on the computer I might as well try burning some cal at the same time. I think I'm on to something I'm actually sweating and typing. Unfortunaly there is some con's my fingers are sweating and once in a while my fingers slip and I lose everything I typed Whatever can't have it all. Anyways as far as my favorite trainer I LOVE BOB. One he's hot, two he's motovational to the point I want to make him proud. THree he's spirital with all his yoga stuff and piece of mind stuff and Last did I foget to mention he's HOTTTTT. I was in the military in the late 90's so I think I've been just brain washed to enjoy working hard and being pushed to my limits. Maybe thats why I have a hard time working out alone. Wow I really gave you alot of info well either one you luv me or two you think I'm nuts either way you know who minnie witch is. Can't wait to get to know all of u.

Good morning Blue buddies...how is everyone doing? Week here has been pretty crazy but hanging in there being selective of what I'm eating and getting my water in. Went to the park and walked 2 1/4 miles yesterday at a pretty good clip, it felt good. Hoping to get back there today too.

Got on the scale this morning and was down 2 lbs...was hoping for more but will take it...I keep reminding myself as I hear lots of times, slow and steady.

We have a Halloween party to go to Saturday night that is going to be pickup food. I'm already thinking ahead and planning on taking some healthier options that I can have to fill up on. I will have a bite of this or that if it really calls out to me but will not be filling up on all unhealthy options. It feels good to be back in control of what I'm putting in my mouth.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Shelley--congrats on being the Blue Team's Biggest Loser this week! That is a fantastic percentage of weight loss. Good luck on the no candy challenge. I do okay with Halloween, but watch out when Christmas comes around. I'm already wishing I could find some of the chocolate mint M&Ms in the stores (but secretly glad that I can't so I can't eat them!)

Tammy--thanks for the recipe--that looks super good, and it may be something that my special ed cooking group can make. We're always looking for healthier options that the kids will still eat!

Jen and minniewitch--welcome!! We're so glad that you're here. You will find lots of help and support among this group.

To those of you who struggled last week--it's awesome that you've stuck around and didn't just pitch the whole deal because of one bad week. There will always be setbacks in life, but getting up, dusting off, and going on shows what you're made of.

I'm hopeful for a loss this week, but I'm not sure how confident I am. We went out to eat twice this week (it's usually about once every other month that we go out), and we also had a potluck at work. I know I ate more than I needed, but I'm back on track now.
Happy weigh-in tomorrow.
Jen
