Good morning I hope everyone is having a great morning.

Ihad a gain of 1.5 since last week. I wanted a loss but I didn't get it. I plan to be more careful with what I am eating and try to up my exercise.

I hope you all did well in our challenge last week. I worked out 6 days out of 7. How abou the rest of you?

Are you ready for the next challenge? We are now going up against the rest of the teams.

Two weeks have elapsed since the start of WISH BIGGEST LOSER ROUND 3 and our participants have settled into their routine of WISHing and LOSING and SHARING……now it’s time to :stir: :stir:

TEAM CHALLENGE NUMBER ONE!

For this first challenge between the teams, team members are going to have to evaluate and meditate on what it is or isn’t that they are putting in their mouths. Food is fuel and our big losers need quality energy to burn body fat during their workouts.

Here is how it works; below you see a list of ‘tasks’. For the next 7 days you are challenged to complete as many ‘tasks’ as you can. Each one is valued at 5 pts each. During the 7 days of the challenge, keep record of a completed task and at the end of the week turn in your final total score to your team captain, or designated teammate. For example, task #1 – Drink eight glasses of at least 8 oz of water each day ----- this is a one time task and you must complete it entirely to award yourself 5 pts. However, task #2 – Try 2 new fruits or vegetables….. – is possible to complete this task more than once. Each time you have successfully sampled, and hopefully enjoyed a serving of, a new fruit or vegetable you can award yourself 5 pts. Tasks that can be completed multiple times are marked with an ***

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself. After all, if you cheat you are only cheating yourself from forming healthy eating habits :teeth:
TASKS:

Drink eight glasses of at least 8 oz of water each day

Try two new fruits, vegetables or combination of either this week ***
(new is one you have never tasted before)

Instead of snacking -- spend 20 mins engaged in a hobby or interest ***

Eat a healthy breakfast every day instead of skipping this meal

Eat at least 3 servings of whole grains this week ***

Consume at least 2 non-starchy vegetables 3 days this week ***

No eating of fast-food -- salads and Subway excluded

The challenge begins on Wednesday Sept 19 at 12:01 a.m. and end on Tuesday Sept 25th midnight. Your final score must be reported in by Thursday Sept 26 at 3 p.m. EST in order to be included in the team score. Team captains will report in to each team and report the final results in their weekly team thread on Thursday (Sept 26) evening.


Wanna know what you’re playing for?? The winning team earns bragging rights and the right to include a clippie of such in their signature until the completion of the next team challenge.



Suggestion – print out the task list and keep it hand to mark off each time you complete one for easy and accurate record

One pound down this week! I'll take it, and I'm on for the new challenge, too. I'm printing the task list as we "speak."
 
Good Morning All!!! I hope everyone had another great week! :cheer2:

I am down another 3.6...that is 8.6 total for the 2 weeks! :cool1: Weight Watchers is really the best plan for me...along with burning 300 calories during exercise 5 days a week.

I need some help with the new fruits and veggies (the challenge). I eat mostly everything there is...I guess I have to get to the grocery store and investigate.

ETA: I tried edible flowers last week...can I count this??? I ate pansies...very good!

Down 7 lbs from last week.....:yay:

(ah but then again i may not lose much until this time next month too; my body is weird like that)

Activity has been way up since first week. Trying to get to the gym most week nights and did a 16 mile bike ride on Sunday.

Today i plan to try (:rolleyes: ) their kickboxing class for something different.

I did not do too well this week with my eating, too much late night snacking, and was up .4 this morning. It is TOM, so maybe it's that too. I did exercise 5 out of the 7 days. I really want to lose this weight and be a good team player, so I've printed out the challenge for this week, and I will do it.
The fruits and vegies will be fun. I usually buy the same old things. And it's time to bring out my scrapbooking instead of eating at night.

Dona- Thanks for being our leader. The challenge sounds great. Hope you are feeling better. I just read through the other thread, sounds like you've been pretty miserable with your sinuses. Hope this week is a better one for you.

I'm off to work now, but will be able to get a walk in after work. Have a wonderful losing day everyone!!!:cheer2:
 
Wow you guys!!! Great successes!!!! I'm printing the list too! OMG--No fast food??? I LOVE Chick-fil-A. The Grill Chicken Club Sandwich!!! Yum! Speaking of b-fast I have to go get some now!!! I was down 1.4lbs. this week. It's good, but not as much as I hoped...

Keep it up you guys! Going to get my water now!!!

Had a decent week and even lost a pound, which is better than nothing, right?

Love the challenge b/c it will help to keep on track while I'm out of town. In fact, I am going to take some whole grain oatmeal along and some other snacks to help me stick with the program.

I'm going to keep up the exercise challenge as well.

I maintained this week. I'm consoling myself with the fact that I hit my exercise goal for the week, and I'm feeling better than I was before this challenge began.

I like the challenge this week, and it will definitely be one for me. No fast food...I'm a sucker for that with DS4.

Well, I had a 1.5# loss this week. I didn't get to weigh myself until after my 90 minute walk/run but since today is "the" day, I'm taking it.:rotfl2: I met my fitness challenge and will do this week's. I can handle the no fast food since I generally don't eat it anyway. I'm just glad it didn't say NO eating out because my DH and I are going out for dinner tomorrow for our 15th wedding anniversary. I'm happy because it seems a Ravens' game always gets in the way of our celebrating. :mad: And hey, not everyone makes it 15 years right?

I'm off to school now! Have a great day everyone!

I had a good week this week :cool1: and am happy to be able to contribute to the losing total!

Interesting challenge this week, Dona. I can do the water one (and this is a great prod to make sure I do) but the veggie/fruit one will be a challenge. I was just at the grocery store so I will have to go back and check out the offerings. Perhaps there is a different 'green' that I haven't tried. Now.... if the challenge is to get my kids to try something new, then I have some options! :rotfl: I am definitely going to print off the list and put it on the refrigerator!

That is my Breezy in the picture. She passed away on June 28 of this year:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: We still have 6 left in our family. Mom has 3, brother has 2 and aunt has 1. We only adopt Westies in our family. Breezy was #10. When we get our new puppy, she will be Westie #15 for our family!!

sorry to intrude but i have an important announcment!

Please hold off on tallying your team challenge, there was some miscommunication (mostly my fault) and not all 3 teams got the official word on the challenge this morning. Team captains and I are getting it all straightened out but I want to make sure all three teams have the same opportunity!

So sorry about your loss. :hug: I hope you post pictures of your new puppy when you get her/him. I would love to get another one now, but dh doesn't want to go through the puppy phase just now.

Hi everyone,

I am down 3 lbs from last week, so its a great step in the right direction. I just got back from a 45 minute walk and feeling pretty good about my behavior today.

Gives me one more day to hit Wegman's in search of different fruits and veggies...yeah! I guess I didn't have to alter my lunch today to have brown rice though...oh well, such is life! :)
 
i'm sorry to say i gained 6 pounds in just 3 days.:eek: The only thing i can think it is im not drinking enough water. My hands and feet are swollen so i'm sure thats what it is. I worked out friday, saturday and sunday. Yesterday and today not feeling well( i think im coming down with the cold everyone is passing around our family and at work). I accept the challenge and will earn lots of team points. I love trying new fruits and veggies. I will have to go to the store and get them and whole grain. My sister is also losing weight and she is the cook in the family and doesn't eat anything but meat, veggies and whole grain bread for toast. So this will only help me. We also started a project tonight for our fish extender for our cruise.

Hey Black Team: if you watch the Biggest Looser...please note the time change:

For those of you who watch the show, it will air for 2 hours on 9/25 (7-9Pcentral/8-10P eastern).

Then effective 10/2 a half hour of "Singing Bee" will air before a 90 minute episode of BL. So that would be 7:30-9P central/8:30-10P eastern. This change is 'till further notice'. My bet is Singing Bee will die an untimely death pretty soon, and then (NBC = Nothing But Change) will move everything around again. I"ll keep you posted.
