BL 7.1 Green Team!!!

Good morning Green Team!

I do have a challenge tonight, dinner is for DFil's bday. We are going to the Elk's Lodge where it is Spud night. Giant baked potatoes and a topping bar.

Hope that you had a nice dinner last night. Potatoes aren't too bad for you -- it's all that stuff they give you to put on them!

just checkin in to read to keep me in check :goodvibes

Hey, weekly champion, where is your clippie? You should show off your hard work and accomplishment!

I still have 25 papers and posters to grade on crop circles.

It sounds like you do a good job meshing math and real life for your students.

I posted a gain this past week, but am expecting to have a much better report this Friday!

I know that your hard work will pay off for you!

My exercise plans and dinner plans got changed some but it all worked out in the end. I'll be working harder today to make up for it.

I like how we all are just picking ourselves up, dusting our pants off, and moving again right away in the right direction when we get veered off course.

Don't forget to PM your weigh in and COW info tomorrow.

This is my last day of coaching. It's been a lot of fun coaching this week. We are all working so hard and supportive of one another. This is a great place to be on our journeys to good health.

QOTD -- Have you ever run in a Disney marathon? Or any marathon? It is something that you would consider?

I have to thank my son again for helping with this question. We are talking about doing a local 5K to see how we like it and then maybe doing a Disney run. I have never been a runner but would like to give my son the gift of good health since I think I accomplished my goal of making him a life long reader.

Have a great day, Greenies!

I will be back later but just wanted to post

I just finished grades just have to enter them by 2:15

OhMom: I know that Brenda takes gains into consideration when calculating weights, but that is just way too time consuming with my schedule. I also know that for myself it can sometimes take a couple of weeks to get over a gain, but I'm still working hard and losing weight. I felt that people should be rewarded for the percentage of weight lost from the previous week, because it is all about rewarding those worked hard during the week.

You are right Jessi. It can be hard to get back on track and it's great if we can do that quickly. We have a BL at work and I'm not compensating for previous gains either. I just wanted to fess up to my vacation gain but I am pleased with my quick recovery. I think I readjusted my metabolism with all that eating because the weight is coming off very easily right now.

Congratulations, Green Team! QOTD - A Disney inventory, all the answers are related to Disney: Just fill in your answers, and lets have a bit of Disney Magic today!

Greenies!

Today is not good because I have a banquet tonight - I have no idea what is there. I haven't been good the past 2 days either. After today - that's it. I swear this time. What the heck is wrong with me. I'm not giving up.

QOTD -- Have you ever run in a Disney marathon? Or any marathon? It is something that you would consider?

Thanks for being the coach this week!!

I walked the 2005 & 2006 WDW 1/2 marathon. I would really like to do another, maybe 2011 will be the year. Wondering if by then DH & I could go down for a long weekend as an adult only trip??? We'll have to see how it works out.

I will be back later but just wanted to post

WTG, I know that is a huge stress off of you.

How about making the best choices you can between now and banquet time. Get lots of water in too. You can do it, I know you can.;)

When I feel like giving up I ask myself how being unhealthy is going to make any other part of my life better. The answer, of course, is that it won't. It takes awhile to get to where you the better choice, over and over. That is when your hard work starts to really pay off.
Maybe you can have a healthy snack before the banquet and drink lots of water at the banquet so you don't eat as much. Good luck! You can do this! Here's some pixie dust to help you! pixiedust:

Hello, teammates!

I'm sorry that I haven't posted since before Easter..:scared1: but, I'm still with you in spirit!!

I can't believe my name was still with the top losers for our team. I did work really hard while at my mil's house..tried to stay outside working in the flowerbeds and away from the pitfalls inside the house. :rotfl: She's actually trying to start eating healthier, so that helped. I made the banana oatmeal in the crockpot for her one day and she really liked it. Thanks so much for all of your support!

I've been seriously working on losing this weight for 3 years now, with some success, but it's been up and down and up and down. This challenge, I've actually kept it on the downward trend. I really like the way the COW was organized to help us incorporate those healthy changes we need to make. :yay:

Don't let a bad day or days get you down..We have a saying on the Events and Competition thread..DLF>DNF>>DNS. Dead Last Finish is greater than Dead Not Finish which is still greater than Did Not Start. I'm a back of the pack walker in half marathons. I am not fast, but I finish. My medal looks the same as 4th place person's medal. As John Bingham would say, "The miracle isn't that I finished, but that I had the courage to start." I think the same thing holds true for us on the weight loss marathon. We are in training, there may be set backs, but we keep on picking ourselves up and continuing toward the goal. The fact that you are reading this thread, even if you are not posting, means you are in the marathon. Keep your eye on that finish line and put one foot in front of the other as you go for it!! :goodvibes Anne

QOTD -- Have you ever run in a Disney marathon? Or any marathon? It is something that you would consider?

The only marathon I would consider would be WDW, but 26.2 miles is a looooonnnggg way. I'm very happy with half marathons! Oh, and I WALK, could never run..even when I was younger!

lisah0711, Doing a 5K will be AWESOME!! The experience of being in a crowd at a racing event (even a local one) is such fun. Being in the streets before most of the city is up...You're nervous, excited, nervous...lol..I've found that most people who do these are so supportive of fellow athletes. I hope you both go for it! :goodvibes Anne

Thanks, Anne. I will definitely look into something and start training with him accordingly since it is the second time he has mentioned it to me. I have to take advantage of things now when he still listens to me and likes to do things with me because someday he will be a teenager and I will become stupid and suckish. :rotfl:

:grouphug: this is why i keep coming back for more.....feeling a bit blue, lost a struggle with my friend chocolate....catching up made me confident and motivated and with that filled up my water cup and downed another. Anne, i am like you...up down.....up down....up down.....I have been on my weight loss marathon for 6 years now. wow. i love your outlook btw.

great job Dona!!

 Melanie

lisa - i'm a loser, ask around :rolleyes1 i don't know where the weekly champion clippe is?? pathetic huh?

EB-thanks for the kudos...i have been feelin the pressure that past couple days, i feel so much like i went back up some, we'll see tomorrow i guess

QOTD -- this is my favorite one so far! i get to brag! :smokin:

I have completed 8 half-marathons, with my 9th being a week from sunday. My first was WDW in 2005 (the first WISH team) and went back in 2007. In Columbus I have completed John Bingham's spring 1/2 four times (once in windy cold snow blowing weather), Columbus -fall race, and the State-to-State in Oxford, OH. My goal now is to complete 13 halfs- 13 medals for 13 miles.

Also my excitement for events has inspired me to organize a fundraiser for a local pantry I volunteer at. In fact, our event day is this coming saturday. It has been VERY hard to get business sponsors this year so we are counting on same-day registrations to flood in :umbrella: any prayers for success of this event is greatly appreciated!

I was sick over the Easter weekend fever/chills/sweats/aches ... and somehow hurt my left ankle to the point where I couldn't walk or run. I cleaned the garage this past weekend and got the Trek 730 ready to ride. Hopefully it will be a good alternative to walking. I'm waiting for the weather to break before I ride since I haven't been on a bike in about 10 years. The weather service is talking about mid 80's over the weekend here in MA.

Looks like my weight will be up for this weeks weigh-in. I'm tracking 2/3 lbs higher since last week and for the first time since early February. Bad habits come back quickly! But ... no excuses. Just more diet/excercise work required, after tomorrow (of course) since a shipping company we use is coming into work and buying pizza for everybody.

Hopefully the Green team will still post some awesome numbers and take the week.

Be sure to get the weight and COW stats in for Friday and Saturday. Even if you've gained, like me.

Time to play catch with the posts.

Bill

QOTD -- Have you ever run in a Disney marathon? Or any marathon? It is something that you would consider?

Never ran or attempted any marathon. Boston marathon was just this past Monday which is Patriots Day in MA. I've watched and drank ...but never run a marathon. I have run 5k's, 5 milers. I'm still hoping to be ready for a 5 miler on Cape Cod in August.

One reason I came over to the W.I.S.H boards because I had thoughts of attempting the WDW Half and the 5k in 2010. I like the fact so many here have attempted and accomplished the Half and Full so the experience shared by those gives me hopes of competing.

Anybody sign-up for the WDW Half and then find out they can't make the run for whatever reason??? Were you able to transfer your race entry to someone else??

Thanks,

Bill

holy cow! i almost felll off my chair. i had just composed an email to my mom about my tire around my middle! i feel a little phony as that loss was losing vacation weight from a long weekend away; but then i then i thought it's ok :thumbsup2 i focused right away and got it back under control. problem is now i'm fluctuating it! urgh! i skipped Spinning monday and now i regret that....but i'll definately be there tonight ::yes::

i've been seriously considering no alcohol until May 3, which is the 1/2 marathon i'm doing. i know that's not long, and maybe i'll extend it, but i know those glasses of wine and weekend beers are not beneficial to my goals! is anyone else there with me?

I just found the results and I was also amazed I was in the mix. Not this week as I'm on the plus side as of this a.m.

I haven't had a beer since the beginning of February and it has helped with the weight loss and blood pressure. It helps keep me focused (by not drinking) on getting to the point where I can start running again. I was almost there ... until the past week or so. I have had some wine but I'm not a wine drinker so its easy to give up (or not get started).

I'm with ya. I went cold turkey on coffee, alcohol, soda (Coca Cola, Sprite, Pepsi, etc) and fried foods :scared1:. Getting home and getting right out for a walk (or run) was the only way I could get through.

Just my thoughts

Congrats to all

Bill

By written note, I take it you mean something more than the nasty note I wrote (it was written) to a co-worker demanding resolution to an issue pending since last week. It was short and to the point!! :rolleyes1

Good tip I just read when eating out:

Zone in on color
- Before you order, picture what your plate will look like when it comes out of the kitchen. If there won't be at least two colors on it, reconsider. It can be easy as ordering tomatoes and mushrooms in an omlet instead of extra cheese.

Well today is my Friday and I'm feeling great. Swam today and did treadmill/stepper. Been eating great. Today was the day they bring all the day old bread from Safeway and give it to the community pool for people, free. I got an angelfood cake and used it to use up a LOT of bananas I had around the house, I just ate some it was so good. I have pretty much given up most sweets -which I love- on this latest weight loss journey so this was and extra special treat. Broke up the angel food, put it in a pan with a bunch of sliced bananas on it, poured raspberry jello over that, let it set then made vanilla pudding (fat free) and poured that over all that and had a nice slice with some sliced strawberries and fat free whipped topping on top when I got home at 9 tonight. Mmmm. Not feeling as sorry for myself now. Had a glass of beautiful Oregon wine also-- some pinot. I got a ridiculous deal on. Biggest loser is getting pretty intense eh? I don't know if it's always this way since this is the first time I have watched the show...:3dglasses

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I know what kind of note you mean. I have written many of them in the last couple of years to several collegues who have come in here.

I am down for the first time in a couple of weeks. Not a lot but still down so I am pretty happy.

No I have not run a Disney half marathon. It really is a dream of mine to do it. The onlyl problem I foresee is that every time the words "Going to Disney" is mentioned in my house my feet start giving me trouble. I have been to Disney with at least 2 sets of bone spurs and 1 case of severe tendinitis of the ankle. My dh has threatened to get me a wheelchair several times. I know where they keep the drugs in the MK.

Hope everyone else has a great weigh in day.

Glad to hear you put the chocolate down and picked up a glass of water. I know you have the willpower, you can do it!!

Once I finish this post, I'll look back in the thread and find the post with the clippie.

I love your current goal for medals for miles and what a great thing to get the fundraiser going, you are a true inspiration!!!

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather and having ankle trouble on top of that. Love the spirit, get back to doing what you know you need to do to get back to the losing of pounds. It is hard to make a routine and easy to get off track. Stay focused and you'll be right back to doing it the way you were!! :cheer2:
