BL 3 - Red Team week 7

I have a lot of 'favorite' vacations. My favorite single vacation was going to WDW with a friend. We arrived the day after Labor Day and the parks were empty. This was when there was just MK and EPCOT. In my pictures you can see maybe 3 or 4 other people walking around. We walked onto every ride and did so much that trip.

With my kids it was another trip to WDW. We went for 9 days and spent 5 in a friends time share condo by SeaWorld...the girls will tell you to this day that that was the best time they had. We also had another trip to WDW for a wedding that I thought was amazing.

And of course my upcoming trip with just me and DH will probably become one of my favorites down the line.

How are things going for you? Have you looked over this weeks team challenge? Let's get busy!

Red Team question of the day

Thanks for the positive feedback. The questions will continue.
Tell about your current job.

Me first - I am currently working (unpaid) for my husband's electrical contracting business. I call myself the office manager. He write the invoices and I do most of the other stuff. I file, do the banking, pay bills, write checks, empty the PO box, make runs to supply houses when needed, shuffle papers, and try to keep him straight. That is the hardest part!

Please check in and say Hi today Red Team. I'd like to hear from you.

Have a healthy day!

I am a nanny and I bring my 2 daughters to work with me so nanny/full time stay at home mom. I nanny for 2 doctors. They have twin 8 year old girls and a 13 year old boy. I have been with them since before I got married and the girls were in preschool so I have a pretty cushy situation luckily. The hours are long but not many people get paid good money to watch their own kids and have mother's helpers.

I am unemployed. I am having awful TOM issues that prevent me from working.

I am a LICSW at a local community mental health agency where I work with trauma and abuse.

My three web sites...

I like this one because it reminds me in simple terms little things I can do to stay healthy...

http://www.wikihow.com/Lose-Weight-Fast

I like this one because it has showed me how unhealthy I was and how healthy I am trying to get with food and calories. I am able to make both healthy and unhealthy choices BUT this time I am informed and know what I am doing...

http://www.wikihow.com/Lose-Weight-Fast

This one I just like because it inspires me. I lurk there and do not post but I read it everyday...sometimes people do not even know how they touch others lives and help them along their journey...

Right now I am a teacher for my dd's. We started homeschooling last year and we all seem to love it most days. I am also an ER nurse and I work about four times a month. I have worked there for almost 20 years. I actually look forward to going to work now that I am casual.

I am a phlebotomist , so I just draw blood all day and do the occasional stool and urine samples.. :cool2: dreaming of the day when I can be a full time house wife.. :lmao: :rotfl:

i'm a graduate student in molecular and cellular biology and i work in a lab that deals with the way pcbs (and other chemicals) affect thyroid hormone receptors in the developing brain (which can amount to autism and other developmental problems in children). it's very interesting stuff.

Right now I am a store trainer for Wegmans Food Market. I have just given my 2 weeks notice so November 3rd will be my last day with them after 16 1/2 years of employment. Things were just not going good and I needed to get out for my own piece of mind.

I work when I can get it but am mostly a SAHM who volunteers a *lot* for my church group and my DD's choir boosters.
I also have been doing historical research on my own. Not sure what it is turning into, but I think I might at least get a magazine article or two out of it - maybe some kid of self-published book. Just trying to protect the information by dispersing it to as many people as I can. I am putting some crafted books together, consisting of the information and copies of documents I've found in various institutions. They'll be similar to scrapbooks and each 'book' will be its own individual archive. I'm going to try to make at least 8 :scared1: of them for Christmas.

I love all these websites. When this week is over, could we maybe have all of them listed in one post?

agnes!

Hello! I'm Dissing while watching the Sox show their hitting power!

Vacation: It has to be Hawaii on my honeymoon. Just perfect! Although my Holland America cruises are a close second and third to Hawaii. We just booked another cruise for spring.

Career: I am currently a supervisor of 8 at a medical software company. Our group travels the country training hospitals in the use of our software. My employees range from age 22 to late 50s.

Web sites: Although some have already been listed, I am going to explain why I like them.

Weight Watchers was the first health web site I visited. It is my inspiration and the place I visit when I fall off the wagon. The recipes keep me going as well. Cooking is big for me and I enjoy hearing how others cook healthy. The recipe I am looking to make this week is Roasted Squash Soup in the Community Recipe Swap area. They also have a Seasonal Spotlight.

Epicurious was a web site that a friend pointed me to. I have enjoyed just looking all around. They have a healthy area. I dream about alot of the items they have listed. They sound great, but occasionally too difficult to make (I can be lazy). My favorite recipe on this site is the Hummus with Lemon and Yogurt (Bon Appetit, October 1997).

Cooking Light is definitely the magazine I look forward to the most. I also enjoy the website. I look to this to give me the occasional vegetarian meal. I try the recipes that sound interesting and some are hit and miss (the sweet and spicy baked beans were not good to our taste). Even DH who is cooking challenged (we won't discuss how he thought the crisp in apple crisp should be between the layers of apples???) made the Sicilian Chicken Recipe this week. All I can say is WOW!

Now I go back to the Sox and Indians.

Good news, I convinced DH to help me move the treadmill out of the basement up two flights of stairs. This is to be done tomorrow. That will motivate me on non gym days.

Currently I am a bookkeeper for a hair franchise on LI. I'm also very involved in the Special Ed PTA.

My current job is Mom. I also do volunteer work doing the website and newsletter for my MOMS Club and leading DD's Daisy troop. I had a part time job at the Disney Store for a while and that was a LOT of fun, but DH is taking classes and working full time so it's easier now if I'm at home to pick up the slack and keep everything running smoothly. DS will start K in 2.5 years, so I need to start thinking about what I'm going to be when I "grow up". ;)

I hope you had a great weekend. Thanks for all the websites and question responses. Don't forget that tomorrow, Tuesday is weigh in day. I have already received a report from cherylp3 who weighed in at the spa on the Disney Wonder! I'm sure she is having a fabulous time. NCTWINSMOM is at WDW this week and may not be able to weigh in. I'm glad I'm at home right now while trying to lose weight. This thought leads to our question of the day.

Red Team question of the day

I have a hard time eating healthy when I go out to eat. What works for you when you go out? Have you found a yummy healthy dish somewhere that you could tell us about?

Me first. Sometimes when an entree is delivered to the table and I look at it I immediately ask the waitress to bring a to go container. I then remove half of the entree from my plate and place it in the container. That way I am not tempted to eat it all because half of it is already packed away for another meal. I am cheap when I go out to eat I hate the thought of spending $4 for a salad at a fast food place. When my kids were home this summer they picked up food at Arby's one night and brought it home. DD got me a salad. I would never have paid that much for a salad, but it was sooo good. That has helped me change my view of fast food salads. When going out to eat I always take my own salad dressing, Kraft fat free Catalina, in a small bottle. A salad just isn't a salad with out my Catalina.

What do you have to share Red Team? What are you up to today? How is your week going? Stop by today and chat a bit. I enjoy hearing from you.

Have a healthy day!

I am on the 2007 member cruise on the wonder - I am being good

I have 15 points for the weekly challenge I may have more for having soy milk.

question of the day...
Going out to eat is extreamly hard for me... so I try not to, cuz I dont know how to order healthy.. I will admit that. As for what am I up to today.. not much.. I have my disney trip on my mind... not the good part.. with me being sick a few weeks ago through my whole budget out of control now I am trying to play catch up to pay for my trip, so I am starting my week off stressed and upset a little, cuz I am not giving up my trip.. my kids are so excited.... hope all ur days are starting off better than mine :) tty guys later! ~lisa~

What works for me when I go out is ordering salad. If we go for steak I will order a filet cause they general tend to be smaller. I try to eat slower and cut my food smaller too so that I fill up faster.
