Hey Team! I did very well with the challenge, I did everything on it but I haven't added up the points yet. I'll do that as soon as I can. But I didn't do as well with the weight loss.:confused3 I lost less than 1 lb! I'll just try even harder next week to make up for it.

I'm not really losing for anything special but it will be nice to be thinner on our next trip to WDW, which will probably be early spring.

I am losing weight for myself. No big event. Although I am going on the DVC member cruise in October. Michelle, I'm going to food and wine this weekend, hopefully I'll run into you.

Look for the blob in the wheelchair looking slightly irritated because her 6'4" giant of a DH refuses to let her walk around EPCOT, nice and flat would be awesome stretching and moving around with crutches! Looks like a good weekend.:goodvibes

Correct Weekly Team Challenge cut off
Sorry gang, I blew it. Here is the correct information. The weekly team challenge ends tonight Tuesday at midnight. Please PM me your points total by tomorrow Wednesday night at midnight. Sorry for the misinformation. I haven't even got a change to eat my two new fruits yet. Geez.

winniedapooh -Michelle, Have a great time at WDW. Don't overdo it, you just had major surgery. Take care of yourself and try to eat healthy, but remember your eating probably won't be perfect and that is OK. You can work extra hard when you get home.

Cheryl, How wonderful to be able to flit over to WDW whenever you feel like it. I hope the weekend is fun.

Nancy, Grat job at passing up BK. DH had me stop at Arbys on the way home from shopping this week to pick up his dinner and I got nothing for me.

bcvprincesses - I found that cooking a veggie a different way made it good.

Brussel Sprouts is the example. Most folks do not like them, and most boil them.
Instead cut them in half and lay them on a cookie sheet. Spray with Pam and sprinkle with salt/pepper and bake them. They are fantastic that way. Brings out almost a nutty flavor in them.

Cauliflower another one. Growing up DM made creamed cauliflower. My sisters and I dream about this. However, I recently discovered grilling it. Cut it up, toss in a wok or veggie bowl made for the grill. Toss it on the grill after spraying with Pam and salt/pepper. Grill it until brown spots here and there. Yummy!

I am not losing weight for any special event. Just need to lose it.

Off to Open House and the Bake Sale at the school.

Well, between walking, shopping, and taking my BP pills (which includes a diuretic) my weight is finally back down to where is was last Thursday, 164. So I actually did lose the 1 pound I thought I did. I really believe that after TOM I will actually be down a couple of pounds. Maybe it's my imagination but everything is tighter (body-wise, not clothes-wise lol).

Thank you to the 22 Red Team members that have given me their week 3 weight. So far we have no gains. WOO HOO!. I am still waiting to hear from 16 people. Please PM or email me your week 3 weight as soon as possible or am I preachin' to the choir here?

Please also total your points for the weekly team challenge and PM or email the total to me. I do not need a list of what you accomplished but if you would like to share here on our thread go ahead. I am enjoying hearing about everyones experiences with new fruits and vegetables. If you have posted your total points on this thread I will make a note of it so you are covered. Even if you don't think you did much look over the list and see if you earned any points. Every Point counts.

Sent mine. I lost this week so that was good and even manage to do some challenge points. :thumbsup2

I don't know that I am losing weight for a special event so much as I would like to enter my 50's at a much healthier weight. Since I'll be 50 in January of 2009, I have a lot of time to get 'er done.

Are you ready for today? A new week is so exciting. We can really make a difference this week if we work hard. Stay tuned for this weeks team challenge. It is an exercise challenge.

Simpilotswife (Kimberly), I hit 50 in April 09. I always said I would have my act together at 35 but that never happened. With kids now leaving home and our financial situation better than it has even been I am hoping my 50s will be fabulous.

I would love to hear more answers to yesterdays question of the day, but here is a new teaser for today.

Red Team question of the day

What did you get out of the weekly team challenge?

Me first - I kept my challenge printout beside me at the kitchen table. It had spaces for me to write in my progress in each area each day. It helped me to keep track of what I was eating more closely. That is a good thing. It helped me plan to add new healthy things to my diet. It felt good knowing my points were helping the team.

Check in here Red Team and say hi. We care about you and want you to be successful during our WISH Biggest Loser challenge. Is the challenge helping you to make healthy changes in your life? That's what it is all about. Small baby steps repeated daily that become healthy habits to last a lifetime.

Have a healthy day!!

This weeks challenge was actually easy for me since I do a lot of it already with WW. The hardest for me was trying the new fruits/veggies. What I learned? Rappi is ok and kiwi, well lets just say I won't go out of my way to eat it again. Green fuits just don't do it for me!

So last night on BL the red team won their first weigh in..maybe we will follow suit (if not this wee, then next week!)

Kiwi is REALLY (trust me) good mixed with strawberries! :thumbsup2

Red Team question of the day

What did you get out of the weekly team challenge?

The challenge kept my on track with my water....I guzzled for you guys!

I couldn't/didn't earn any points for fruit and veggies, as I pretty much eat (or have tasted) most of them and didn't go shopping for more obscure ones. I did earn 40 points for us though!

I'm glad to hear the next challenge will be about exercise...this is where I need help and have PLENTY of room for point earning activities!!

Here's a toast :drinking1 for those of you who want to be:

FABULOUS BY 50!
Go for it girls, because it's A LOT harder after 50. ;)

the fruit/veggie challenge was hard.

Also something I'd share: Since May 15th, I have lost 28 pounds.

I have been MIA. We have had a family issue to deal with but it seems to be getting back on track. Isn't it amazing how we can so easily put everything else before our health & really get off track?

Well my main weight loss goal was for health & to be there for my kids & a good example. I do have an event as well though. I would like to be at goal for our Christmas WDW trip. I am the same size right now as I was for our last trip and I hate the way I looked in those pics! I would like to set up a portrait session at the GF for some Holiday photos & I want to look good! I really need to step it up!

This challenge kept me from eating fast food this week. Dd and I were out shopping all day Sat and Sun and if it wasn't for this challenge we probably would have stopped for lunch at Fridays or for pizza or chinese food. We love to go out for lunch when we shop but this time we went to Wendys for salads with low fat dressing.

I already enjoy most fruits and veggies so it was hard to find new ones to try but I found some. I tried Kale, escarole, broccoli rabe, red pear (Yummy!), prickly Asian Pear (Yuck!), Kiwi (Tastes OK but I didn't like all the seeds). I could live without the kale and broccoli rabe but that could be because I didn't cook them properly.

Cheryl congratulations on losing so much weight since I last saw you. Have fun this weekend.

This weeks challenge helped me see how much I eat for no reason. It also helped me to try new vegetables that I have never tried before. We always had corn, peas and carrots while growing up. I didn't like the new vegetables but at least I tried them.

I was thinking about this week's challenge when I went out to eat last week. I was trying to decide if I wanted a salad or something else and there was a salad that had spinach & jicima in it so I chose that to satisy that part of the challenge.

Just wanted to add congrats to Cheryl. Way to go!

I added up my points for the challenge....75 points!

Kiwi with strawberries would be a problem since I am not crazy about strawberries either (unless they ar mixed with sugar, poured onto a biscuit and smothered in whipped cream!)

I did 110 points!!!

I got 5 points for each day of not snacking and doing an interest instead. I did trip planning everyday!

Eat at least 3 servings of whole grains..I did that almost everyday, but I do that all the time since I started WW, so it was easy.

Eat 2 non-starchy veggies...also everyday since I eat a lot of that with WW, most veggies are 0 points per serving so I load up on them.

I always eat a healthy breakfast, I always drink tons of water.

My 2 challenges were the new fruit/veggie and the no fast food. On WW you can choose to eat some fast food, just small amounts. Like I could have a regular hamburger from McDonalds or a slice of pizza and just put it towards my point total. But I was good, no fast food at all.

Now this weeks challenge..not so sure I'll do good on. I am not an exercise person. I am good at talking about exercise and I WATCH exercise shows, but I don't do them! So I will have to really work harder this week!

Attention Red Team

Please check out the separate thread about this weeks team challenge. Let's get exercising.

If you haven't already please PM or email you total points for the first weekly team challenge to me by midnight tonight. EVERY POINT COUNTS!! We need help from EVERYONE to win this one.

Have a healthy day!

Please PM or email your total points for weekly team challenge #1 by 3 PM this afternoon Wednesday. Sorry, I was wrong again, I guess that's why I don't get paid for this.
