Biggest Loser Central here is concerned that some participants may not have added up their points correctly so now I have to check with all 24 participants to make sure we are all calculating correctly.

drink eight glasses of at least 8 oz of water each day
Maximum 5 points if water drunk for 7 days

Try two new fruits, vegetables or combination of either this week ***
(new is one you have never tasted before)
5 points for every combination of 2 eaten - no maximum

Instead of snacking -- spend 20 mins engaged in a hobby or interest ***
5 points for each 20 minute occurance - no maximum

Eat a healthy breakfast every day instead of skipping this meal
Maximum 5 points if healthy breakfast eaten for 7 days

Eat at least 3 servings of whole grains this week ***
5 points awarded for every 3 servings eaten, no maximum. 12 servings for week = 4 x 5 points = 20 points

Consume at least 2 non-starchy vegetables 3 days this week ***
If 2 non-starchy vegetables eaten each day for 6 days then 10 points, if eaten for 3 days then 5 points, maximum 10 points

No eating of fast-food -- salads and Subway excluded
Maximum 5 points if no fast food for 7 days

If you are a challenge participant and check in here please verify that your reported points are correct or make a change. I will be sending a PM to all participants after I clear out my PM box. Until the scoring is straight we will probably not be announcing a winner of the weekly team challenge.

My point total is 60!

Reporting in. My Team Challenge Point Total is still 65.

My exercise plan: is to
walk at least 1 mile every day - the earlier in the day the better, not ambling slowly along, not power-walking, but perhaps in-between...a brisk pace :yay: .

My points are 75 for the callenge.

DS kindly shared his stomach flu with me:sad2: , so I haven't been on the computer much the last couple of days. On the bright side, I should have a good weigh in this week. :rolleyes1 I will say it's the most effective form of quick weight loss I've found, but I wouldn't recommend it.

For the new challenge, my work out plan for the week is:
Wednesday: out sick
Thursday: recovery
Friday: Elliptical machine at the gym
Saturday: Trainer session/track work
Sunday: Elliptical machine at gym
Monday: Trainer session/track work
Tuesday: Elliptical machine at gym

Thank you so much to all of you who have checked in to verify your points for weekly team challenge #1. I am sorry for all the confusion. We have a couple of points changes, some up, and some down. Sleep tight! See you tomorrow.

drink eight glasses of at least 8 oz of water each day
Maximum 5 points if water drunk for 7 days

I have 5 points here

Try two new fruits, vegetables or combination of either this week ***
(new is one you have never tasted before)
5 points for every combination of 2 eaten - no maximum

Only 5 points for me here. 1 of each was hard enough!

Instead of snacking -- spend 20 mins engaged in a hobby or interest ***
5 points for each 20 minute occurance - no maximum

I had 30 points here.

I did this one everyday so wed, thurs, frid, sat, sun, mon = 6 x5= 30 pts.

Eat a healthy breakfast every day instead of skipping this meal
Maximum 5 points if healthy breakfast eaten for 7 days

Another 5 points

Eat at least 3 servings of whole grains this week ***
5 points awarded for every 3 servings eaten, no maximum. 12 servings for week = 4 x 5 points = 20 points

I had 4 days, 3 servings per day (5 pts per day)

4x5=20 pts.

Consume at least 2 non-starchy vegetables 3 days this week ***
If 2 non-starchy vegetables eaten each day for 6 days then 10 points, if eaten for 3 days then 5 points, maximum 10 points

10 pts, did this everyday!

No eating of fast-food -- salads and Subway excluded
Maximum 5 points if no fast food for 7 days

Got this one too! 5 points.

So now I am down a little in points and I am at 80 pts.

Sorry guys my weight loss didn't count this week. Been having a hard time logging on to the DIS, wouldn't even load the webpage :confused3 . But my points did count for the challenge, :woohoo:

On to more important things. I am taking the challenge to lose weight really for myself. I do have many activities planned, 2 Disney cruise next year, would love to do the Minnie in May and Marathon weekend in January 2009, that help me stay motivated.

What did I get out of the weekly challenge?
Drinking more water. I have always been a full sugar soda girl. I switched at the beginning of this year to diet, now that is all I drink. I have been trying to drink more water and the challenge helped me to do that. The hard thing is I hate tap water and when we eat out most restaurants don't have bottled water. I have to bring my own.

What is my new habit? I think drinking more water then soda. I started working graveyards recently and it has been difficult. I have not eaten a meal after 10 pm, and no soda after 10p. I drink water from 10p until breakfast at home.

Here is my exercise plan for the week:
Wednesday: 20 minutes of walking, 10 mins of stretching
Thursday: 20 minutes of walking, 10 mins of stretching
Friday: 30 minutes of walking morning, 15 minutes of walking early evening, 20 mins of stretching
Saturday: 35 mins if walking (morning), 20 minutes of walking early evening, 20 mins of stretching.
Sunday:
Monday:
Tuesday:

Keep up the good work red team!:cheer2:

My exercise plan:

Wed: Power walk 30 minutes followed by 10 minutes stretching
Thrus: Power walk 30 min followed by 10 min stretching
Fri: Power walk 30 min followed by 10 min stretching
Sat: 30-45 minutes of Dance Dance Revolution, 10 minutes stretching
Sun: Power walk 30 minutes followed by 10 minutes stretching
Mon: 30-45 minutes of Dance Dance Revolution, 10 minutes stretching
Tues: Power walk 30 minutes followed by 10 minutes stretching

Here is my workout plan for the week. I actually have it in my calendar so I am not just making it up now. :o)

Wednesday: Run 4 miles
Thursday: Run 3 miles
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Run 5 miles
Sunday: 1 hour cross train
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: Run 3 miles

Wow I can't believe I was in the top 5! I'm not sure what my starting weight was- It's been a crazy September here.

My exercise plan is just to use my elliptical 20 minutes a day. I need a hip replacement and I really have to take the exercise thing one day at a time. I'm determined to lose some weight before my 40th.... Fit and Forty- not Fat and Forty..... my new motto!!:yay:

I just did my measurements, My hips are down to 37"!!!!!!!!!! The were 43" in May! I was so darn hippy. My waist has been stuck at 30" for a month, but it used to be 34". :)

I found a really neat website, http://www.fitnesspros.com/calculators/idealbodymeasurements.html

It calculate what your ideal body measurements should be. It said my waist should be 27" & hips 33". So, just 3 or 4 more inches to go! My arms, legs & neck are already smaller than what they state my ideal is.

The weekend is just around the corner and we need to keep up our momentum. I am so glad to see so many exercise plans on our thread. Now just do it! I think the reason we won team challenge #1 was because of our numbers. More details when I publish the results of the team challenge. We really did win that is official!!

Red Team question of the day

This week we did manage to come in #2 in the weekly team weigh in. I do have blue team facts to report. They had 10 members that did not report in, we had 6. They lost 20.6 pounds for the week, we lost 32.3. They had gains of 12.8 pounds, our 2 gains totaled 3.9 pounds. Over half of their gain was from one person who enjoyed WDW free dining. I am wondering how things would have turned out if they did not have those huge gains. Our numbers would have been very close, although it is the percentages that count.

Today's question is does this information concern you? Do you consider the welfare of the team or are you just doing this for you alone? Knowing how close things were last week will that motivate you to do better this week?

me first - I know I have not been a very good team player thus far. I am one of the 'Big Girls' on our team and I know I have the potential to add some hefty numbers to our weight loss each week. I have had 2 good weeks and 1 no change week. The good weeks could have been better though. I really need to focus on developing my healthy habits. I need to just say no to all the junk in the house. I need to do this for me and for the team. I know that if we all work together we can accomplish great things, the weekly team challenge is an example of that. I believe we won because we had a larger number of participants. I'm sure the other teams noticed that and they will be working hard to get more participants this week. That means we will just have to work harder to keep our #1 spot.

So Red Team, what are your goals today? Doing any exercising? Planning for a great healthy weekend? We can do it. Never give up.

Have a healthy day!

Red Team Rocks!!

For me, I am doing the weight loss for me...but knowing that the team is depending on good numbers is a big motivater. I think twice before putting a "no no" food into my mouth because I know I am accountable not only to myself but the team.

Now for this weeks challenge...not so good on my end. I do so much walking and running around at work that exercise on top of that is not what I want to do. On a busy day at work I can do over 15,000 steps.

The only thing I did this week was take the steps more instead of using an elevator.

I am doing this for myself as well but I am a team player & very competitive so I want our team to WIN!!! My exercise plan for this week is to get 20mins cardio in 4 days and do some weight training twice this week. Right now I have a bad cold so feeling sidelined.....
