BL 3 Blue Team-Week 5

And as to the question of the week:

I would definitely choose Bob. Never, ever ever Kim. But as of this whole season, I have truly warmed up to Jillian.

Yaaaaay blue team. I calculated all of my points and forgot to email then to Vija AGAIN!! I am just going to send my points on Tuesday with my weigh in - It will be a day short, but I will try to get my maxes maxed out. Hey, it's late, I don't always make sense.

Have a great weekend :woohoo: LET'S WIN AGAIN!! And yes, it is soooo cool that the other team members gave us props. I wish I had thought of that the other weeks!

becka:  I hope things are going better for you at work now. Let us know how everything is. Hang in there! Look how far you've come! :)

goldcupmom: Continued well wishes for your DD

Trainer question: I'd choose Bob without a doubt. While I do like all of them and see their strengths, if I had someone screaming at me like the way Jillian does, I'd probably say some not-so-nice things to her and then walk away. That kind of attitude does NOT motivate me in the least. Again, I DO recognise that it absolutely works, but given the choice I'd take Bob because I know I could take his kind of motivation. Actually I think Kim would be my second choice, and Jillian last. :)

CONGRATS TO OUR TEAM! Wow, we came in first place for the weigh in AND for the team challenge!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

hey just a minute to check in and WOWSER!! we :rockband: so i'm glad i did

i had a super hectic crazy week -- today i get to slow down a bit and go shopping with Mom :teeth: and then homecoming football game, which is a big deal for DD marching band, for anyone who is familiar with college football, the HS band marches "Script Ohio" tonight, we are in the heart of OSU fan country and it's a real crowd pleaser

i'm glad for the 10 mins around the house a day task this week -- my house is suffering from 2 weeks of chaos

sorry i haven't been able to keep up with all the chatter this week! i will share that my trainer pick would be Bob too ::yes:: i love his personality, his humor and his nature. i didn't mind Kim as much last year, this year she's getting to me. and I too am finding myself warming up more to Jillian, but her hard nature would grind me......i could hang out and chat fitness with her, i think she is very smart in her approach

have a GREAT day everyone -- make good choices!!

Hi Everyone! Busy day for me too. I just stopped in to say hi team!!! I drove into the City today to do errands, bought new shoes for WDW :cool1: and then I soon have to walk to the homecoming parade today. OhMom, it is our homecoming for the highschool today and the town goes all out! Lots of fun. I decided to walk and get in some extra exercise and enjoy the beautiful weather a little bit!

And one small victory for me. I was at culvers today (drove through for lunch) and I usually order my crispy chicken, fries AND in the past I ordered onion rings or cheese curds in addition...:rolleyes1 Today I SOOOOOOOOO wanted an extra order of onion rings. I really struggled. Placed my order without, paid the money, and then I said I wanted to order the onion rings, but just as soon as it was out of my mouth, I said I changed my mind and DID NOT GET THEM! The cashier must think I am nuts though... :hippie: I really am proud of myself. I also started to talk myself out of walking to the parade, but changed my mind. I think it will do me some good to walk off some of these fries!! ;) Hope EVERYONE has a fantastic weekend!!!

Vija - you are AWESOME!!  :cheer2: You should be feeling very proud!! Especially Culvers...yummmm!

And yes, it is soooo cool that the other team members gave us props. I wish I had thought of that the other weeks!

I did give props to the other teams the last couple of times, no worries.. the blue team is well represented! But if more of us do that next time, It will be great! We are a TRUE BLUE TEAM!!!:cheer2:

Vija - you are AWESOME!!  :cheer2: You should be feeling very proud!! Especially Culvers...yummmm!

Thanks! I am! And you know what? On my way to the homecoming parade, I almost turned around because my feet were a little sore, but I pushed on and walked! Now I really feel proud of myself!

Ok, off to clean quick and then pick up DD!

Have a great weekend everyone!
Vija

I'd want Jillian as my trainer. I handle that kind of pressure well as odd as it sounds. Plus I know deep down she truly cares. Plus I wanna be a renegade:laughing:

I've had an icky week with bank issues and work problems. I have been stressed and my acid reflux has been acting up giving me headaches.

I gotta get my butt in gear.

Congrats blue team. Weigh to go.

vija-- i think you should be proud of yourself!! anytime we choose better, choose healthier....it is a VICTORY!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

mom and i are scrapbooking today -- i have a nice salad planned for lunch, not sure about dinner? we had some wine last night so there isn't much left for tonight :rolleyes2 my DD HSmarching band did FAB last night with script Ohio. it was cool and she looks so cute in her uniform :teeth:

HAVE A GREAT HEALTHY WEEKEND LADIES!!!!!

My husband forgot to take back the scale and I weighed today - only.6 pounds away from my 10 pound clippie. I don't know why, but that is INCREDIBLY MOTIVATING!!

GO BLUE:woohoo:

What a day, and it's only 3pm still!

A little background: DH has been sick for the last 2 days with a bad cold/cough/upper respiratory/chest thing. It's been getting worse each day. Last night he hardly slept because he was coughing so much and when he'd lay down the congestion would be really bad, so he basically stayed up most of the night. So today, he's exhausted and feeling miserable...

Got up this morning, had coffee with DH, then I had to leave to go to my nail appt. On the way back from that I had to stop at the bank, then called home to DS16 to tell him to get ready because I was picking him up and taking him to his hair cut appt. That was at 1pm. On the way back from the hair appt, I called home to see what DH wanted for lunch. I figured I'd either stop and pick up something at the grocery store (I need to do a big grocery shopping today or tomorrow), or see if he felt up to going to our local restaurant for a bite to eat. DH was irritable and said he wasn't feeling well and when I asked him what he wanted to eat he said "I don't know, I don't care, but I'm hungry and sick so just get me something good".

Ok. WHAT IS SOMETHING "good"???? :confused3 DS16 was in the car with me and suggested getting Wendy's since we hadn't had it in over 4 months, and also since I'd be able to get a grilled chicken sandwich and a salad. So I decided to get Wendy's for lunch.

I got my DSs' what they wanted, then I ordered DH's old favorite (Bacon chicken sandwich with small fries), and I got myself a grilled chicken sandwich and a side salad. (I was SOOO tempted to get a burger and fries but I didn't! LOL).

We got home with the food, DH took one look at his food and said "You got me this??? I can't eat this! I'm sick AND I'm on a diet!! You should've gotten me a cheesesteak or something!!"

My reaction -----> :scared1:

I starting YELLING at DH! I told him how he did NOT give me ANY idea of what he wanted; and what's the difference (calorie/diet wise) between a cheesesteak and a chicken sandwich/fries" and I don't even remember what else I said because I was on a roll yelling...

You need to know that DH and I usually NEVER yell at each other! LOL But I was so annoyed with him today that I just couldn't help it. I told him "You're 44 years old!!! If you're sick and I'm not home, then go look in the cabinet for cold medicine! DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF!!" It felt good to yell, I must admit ;)

Anyway, now here it is 3pm. I JUST finished my salad and grilled chicken sandwich. Actually, I didn't even eat the roll, so it was only a piece of chicken, plus lettuce and a slice of tomato. I'm so glad I was good and chose wisely. lol

In the meantime, I ran out to CVS to buy a vaporizer for DH, but he still has not touched his food. I'll go make him some soup or something, since I'm such a good wife.

He is usually so good when he's sick! He usually will just go to sleep or just stay in his office (here, off the family room), but this time he's really crabby! LOL

Ok, thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now! LOL

I hope everyone's having a good weekend! :)

Yaaaaay blue team. I calculated all of my points and forgot to email then to Vija AGAIN!! I am just going to send my points on Tuesday with my weigh in - It will be a day short, but I will try to get my maxes maxed out.
Sasha, I sent my points in on Tuesday last week. I didn't want to miss out again. I figure, EVERY point helps out our team....as long as they are recorded! Oooooh! and look how close you are to a new clippie! I can hardly weight until Tuesday to see it on you. Think....last chance workout, comin' up!

Becka, hope things are going better for you this weekend. You can do it! :wizard:

Julie, let us know how your DD is getting along. We're still thinking of your family. I happened to hear the term "oriental soaking tub" earlier this week, and had to google it. Does it use a lot of water?

Molli, it sounds like you and your Mom have a busy, but wonderful weekend! Isn't it nice when we are friends with our parents?
Today I SOOOOOOOOO wanted an extra order of onion rings.
I have some good news to report, I stepped on the scale again today and I am already down another 1.5# for the next weigh in! . . . . I had a cookie before the party and slowly savored it, then I had only1 cracker with a bit of cheese for taste. ONLY 1 cracker! Can you believe it???!!!! I didn't even have any of the turtle bars. I have had them before, know how they taste and didn't even really consider having one. And the best part? It wasn't a big struggle, I actually was satisfied, and didn't even realize how little I had eaten of the snacks unitl I was talking with DH and told him how proud of myself I was! a sun shining, magical day today!
Vija, I think that you are getting a little taller as you make yourself proud with your choices! (As a short person....that's a compliment! );) WEIGH to go!

Terry, I always hate when I lose control of myself that way. It's like there is someone else screeching like a banshee, taking over my whole demeanor. And I can't stop.

I haven't quite figured out which trainer I would choose. I think that it would be Bob for his caring of his team. But I think that I need Jillian to deliver the beatings. Last year was the first time that I watched BL, and it seems like Kim has faded into the background. I know that it is editing, but that's how it seems to me.

I've done fine in the food department this weekend, however we're having our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. We'll see how that goes for me. I DO have my water in for the day, so that is good. How much water do you think that I'll need to drink tomorrow to offset the food? :rotfl:

Just checking in before my day starts to go crazy. I did my weekly weigh-in today. And I lost 3.4 lbs. This makes up for the pittly .2 loss last week. With this loss I am now sporting a new clippie. YEAH ME!!

I actually had a regular customer, that I haven't seen in a couple weeks, tell me yesterday that I am getting skinny. SKINNY? ME? That sounds so odd.

Well I am going to to eat breakfast and head to the grocery store, were I will park in the far corner of the parking lot. This is about the only part of this challange that I am going to be able to fit in and I am actually really enjoying the challange to see how far away I can park. Then come home and get ready to go to work for the day.

Oh, my GOODNESS, Christa! That clippie looks absolutely sparkling! WEIGH to go! Congratulations on the new you!

Congrats Christa! The clippie looks so beautiful. :)

I have been SICK! I just feel miserable. I have not been able to exercise at all other than some really short sloooow walks. I have been staying in my calorie range but I have not been getting enough water or really eating frequently enough. I just have not had any energy at all. Somehow I still have managed to lose 1.5 pounds since last weekend so that at least makes me a bit happier. Plus that loss puts me in a new "decade".

Of course when you are down is when life will kick you and I woke up this morning to a soaking wet carpet in our living room apparently caused by a backed up pipe drain in our garage utility closet. I have no energy at all and now I am being forced to deal with the clean up. DH went out real quick to buy a wet vac so we can see how much water we can pull out of the carpet. I am afraid it is so wet that we are going to have to replace at least the padding if not the entire carpet. :sad2:

BECKA! Immediately call your insurance company to see if they cover this type of thing!! I've had 2 times (2 different houses) where we had water damage (not due to rain or weather) and BOTH times were 100% covered! They IMMEDIATELY sent out a water/smoke/fire damage recovery company to our home and they began the job of cleaning up the water damage, setting up fans/blowers to make sure to get all of the water out of the house so as not to allow mold to grow, they covered the cost of replacing carpeting, etc.

So please call your insurance company right now! This is something that so many people do not realize is a covered incident!!!!

Becka, I'm sorry that you are feeling under the weather. Terry's right, call your insurance. If you are covered, they will look after the clean up. BTW, isn't getting into a new decade exciting? WEIGH to go!

christa-:cool1: :thumbsup2 That new clippie is FAB-U-LOUS on you!!! How proud you must be!! I went to a conference on Friday and saw a lot of folks that I only see 1-2 times per year at these meetings. Most were surprised to see the "improving" me!! Some could not believe how much I had lost, but I told them to just wait until they see me next time!!! I will be one hot mama!!;)

becka- Hope you are feeling better soon. We have one of those fire/water/smoke damage repair companies right near us and they do a FANTASTIC job. My boss's daughter used them and it was all covered by her homeowners ins. Good as new. Definately check with the ins. co.

Terry- LOL I read about John and I said, huh, I must have married his twin!!:lmao: Jamie gets like that too, and boy I can't win for losing when he is in that "state". Hope DH is feeling better soon. Only 19 more days until Explorer!!!

We went to Applebees today for lunch/dinner since they have the WW menu. DH had the Onion soup (3 pts) and a chicken portabello sandwich (7pts). I had the Southwest Cobb salad (9 pts). The salad was HUGE and very filling. And a decent amount of ranch dressing (may have been lite, I don't think it said). DH liked the sandwich, but was disappointed that it was not one big mushroom but pieces of portabello. But it was good and filling. Unfortunately after that we went to Angels to book DD's birthday party and had ice cream there (used flex points, so I should be okay).
I think if we were to go again to Applebees I would do the shrimp skewer salad (4 pts) and the soup. I have been really good and not weighed myself since Tuesday.

Looking forward to WI on Tues-hoping for another great week. Hope everyone is have a nice long weekend (for those who have tomorrow off! I don't unfortunately:sad1:) and Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends!!

Hi Everyone! The weekends have been so crazy! Work was super busy. We did as many cases today and we did the same amount of cases yesterday with a skeleten weekend staff as the OR is going to do tomorrow with a full staff!!!! I was putting on the miles today! I thought to myself that this should count as exercise because I am certain I walked several miles. I made some good food choices and am VERY proud of that.

The homecoming game Friday night was so much fun, we won 55 - 14!!!!! WOWZER!

ON a side note, since I have been exercising more, my plantar fascitis has really been acting up, I took advil this weekend and bought new shoes, and my feet have been surprisingly better. I am going to see my primary doc for a check up and I think I will ask her for anti inflammatory meds, especially for my WDW trip coming up.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

ReAnSt, hope you are feeling better!

ohMom, glad to hear you had fun at homecoming. How was the cleaning/bonding time with mom??? :laundy:

hrpufnsash, oh, you are soooo close! Keep going and we'll celebrate!

SeaSpray, gosh I hope DH feels better! Men don't seem to handle illnes well, do they?

Debbie, thanks for the positive words! Feels great to hear them! Happy thanksgiving!

disneychrista, sporting that new clippie!!! :cool2: It looks fantastic! Congrats on the weight loss! THat is fantastic! Doesn't it feel great when someone you haven't seen in a while gives you positive comments? That is great!!!

becka, you have had some rough days. I hope you are feeling better soon!!! And I hope your water mess gets taken care of quickly. Too much stress.

VernRDH, interesting report on Applebees. I'd like to give their WW foods a try. I know you are going to have a great WI on tuesday. I am looking forward to my WI at WW tomorrow, I know I should get another star!

Keep on moving blue team!:cheer2:

OOOH, I wanted to ADD something... Because of the challenge, I made sure to take a bath yesterday, but it wasn't any kind of bath... oh no, not for me........... I had a WICKEDLY HOT CHOCOLATE BATH! OH yes, you heard me.. a HOT CHOCOLATE bath! What is that? It is bubble bath that smells like hot chocolate! I got it as a gift. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I did! It was decadent.... DH liked it too!;)
gotta love the fringe benefits of our challenges!:rotfl:
