Reports are done, interviews tonight and tomorrow. Only 5 people signed up to see me :confused: . . . and one of those didn't show up. :rolleyes: Now . . . . CHRISTMAS!

I did the quiz and here are the results:

Your Personality Type: SPONTANEOUS :confused3
Life is a game, and your strategy is always changing. While you aren't much for rules, you'll follow them if they're simple and help you have fun.

Your Exercise Rx: :thumbsup2
Short but sweet activities that allow you to accumulate exercise time throughout the day may be a good choice, says Ross Andersen, PhD, director of exercise science at Johns Hopkins' weight management center. Spontaneous types also tend to do well with games.

Best Choices
  • Short walks throughout the day
  • Taking the stairs
  • Bike rides
  • Hiking
  • Tennis
  • Racquetball
  • Squash
  • Basketball
  • Frisbee

Leisure Activities
Your first priority is to work regular exercise into your week. But also think about using your leisure time to burn off a few extra calories.

Obstacles
Different personalities don't just take to different activities; they have to contend with different obstacles too. Here's what you might find in your path, as well as ways to get around it:
Your biggest enemy is an idle mind. Even short workouts can turn torturous if there's nothing to occupy your brain.
Solution: Watch TV or listen to music while exercising, or grab a workout partner to talk with.

Interesting. No way I'm doing squash or racquetball, but frisbee might be doable. :laughing:

And, I do exercise in front of the t.v. I just never considered me to be spontaneous!

We went out to dinner and I had a salad. Then we went to Cold Stone and passed it up. This is such a change from what I would have done a year ago. I am so proud of myself.

Please keep my daughter in your thoughts. After 4 weeks of pain she is having a laproscopy tomorrow to see if it is endometriosis. I think I am more nervous then she is.

disneychrista - I will keep your daughter and you in my thoughts and prayers today! Good luck and hope everything goes well!:hug:

Vija - I'll come back and check out that thread later. DH is still asleep right now and I don't know where the headphones are. And I wouldn't want to wake him, right?:rolleyes:

So I took the quiz, and I, like many of you, am INSPIRATIONAL.

Now I like to think this is accurate, but sometimes I have to wonder...;)

Your Personality Type: INSPIRATIONAL
You're the type who catalyzes other people into action. You know how to say all the right things, which is why people gravitate toward you, tell you their problems, and look to you for inspiration. You're creative and are concerned about achieving personal growth.

Your Exercise Rx:
Dual-purpose exercise. To you, working out is engaging only when it's about more than just your body. You are more apt to enjoy it if it's about being part of a community or about exploring your inner self. To enhance your spiritual side, try listening to music to set the mood for a peaceful workout.

Best Choices

* Softball
* Volleyball
* Soccer
* Dance classes
* Water aerobics
* Martial arts
* Trail running
* Swimming
* Tai chi

Leisure Activities
Your first priority is to work regular exercise into your week. But also think about using your leisure time to burn off a few extra calories. Here are some extracurricular activities for your personality type:

* nature walks
* yoga

Obstacles
Different personalities don't just take to different activities; they have to contend with different obstacles too. Here's what you might find in your path, as well as ways to get around it:
Because you may often engage in activities that involve instructors or coaches, you run the risk of being turned off by corrections or criticism aimed at you--or anyone else in your group.
Solution: Remind yourself that the teacher or coach is only trying to help you; if that doesn't work, look for a class or team that focuses more on teamwork or a teacher or coach whose style you prefer.

Now I am off to inspire some young minds! I'll check back later. Have a super day everyone!:thumbsup2

Oh, one more thing I meant to mention...

I did join Curves and I LOVE IT! I have actually enjoyed going to work out this week!

Hopefully this will kick my weight loss back in gear and I will have some higher numbers to report over the next couple of weeks. And I would love to lose another 5 pounds or so before my WDW trip, and that's in less than four weeks!:banana:

christa-:hug: and prayers for your daughter and you. Hope that everything turns out okay. Sometimes the not knowing is worse than knowing.

Geekerbell-Good for you on Curves!!! Glad you like it and are getting back into the exercise! I know you can lose that 5 lbs before your trip.

Vija-Sorry, I cannot make any sense of the words. My hearing ain't what it used to be!!

Lots of you are inspirational, in so many ways!!! The quiz just highlights that.

I am off to work, grocery shopping, TaeKwonDo and then FINALLY home!!! Hoping to have an on plan weekend, gotta get that scale moving again.

Blue Team .469% loss:cheer2: :cheer2:
Red Team .465% loss

Challenge Points
Black Team 270

Look at how close we were to the red team in the weight loss numbers!
.004% difference! The black team did really good this week, they had a member come back after having been MIA for many, many weeks. What courage that must have took! I say way to go for that team member!

We did a great job with our numbers!!!! Way to go Blue team!:woohoo:

I hear "with a *something* bright" :confused3

sorry i hear 'with a pookud bright'

Thanks for trying, I hear "with a "something" bright too, what is that word??!!!:headache:

Way to go on staying away from cold stone, it is yummy, but your success is worth more! And I will keep your DD in my thoughts today. Hang in there, I'll say a prayer for your both.

OOOOh, I know that you will do great at curves! I think I am going to have to head off to the gym again. I have no excuses, just need to do it!

Vija-Sorry, I cannot make any sense of the words. My hearing ain't what it used to be!!

Thanks for trying! who is in TaeKwonDo? both of my kids do it, and I am considering doing it, but we don't have time or money right now.

WAY TO GO LOSERS!!!!:woohoo:

Challenge points winners!

1st place MiDanceMom:cheer2:
2nd place *tie* Alreadyexcitedgrammy and ohMom
3rd place *tie* Debbie and LaLaroo 78

Congrats to all of you and way to go on your hard work and successes!

Vija-my DD does TKD she is a blue belt. I also would love to do it, but the money is definately an issue. DD is in for 3 years of payments (and I have 2.5 years to go) so I can't afford to do it right now. I also would like to get to my goal weight before I sign up so I only have to get one uniform!!!

Thanks for the well wishes for my daughter. The surgery went well. They didn't find any endometriosis, so that is good. But that doesnt explain why she has been having pain. She is home and doesn't seem to be in much pain, other than her shoulder, which is expected. She is to take it easy for at least a few days. She will go back to her GYN for post-op in 2 weeks and at that time we will explore what the next step is.

disneychrista: I'm glad that all is well with your DD :hug: But I understand your concern since they still don't know what is causing her pain. Poor thing :( I hope they're able to figure it out soon.

CONGRATS to all of the Blue Team winners! Way to go! :thumbsup2

Geekerbell: WAY TO GO on joining Curves and doing your work-outs!! :yay:

ohMom: I hope your cold is gone soon. Feel better soon!

Veronica: I had a great time chatting with you and Christie last Sunday night! :chat: When will the podcast be on your site?? It was a lot of fun remembering that cruise! :boat:

Well I stepped on the scale this morning and I am FINALLY back down to my pre-cruise weight!!! :banana: :banana: :banana: It's the lowest I've been since I started losing weight on June 1, 2007. After a rough month of getting back on track, I finally feel like we're (DH and I) back in line for losing more weight, and we have our minds back in to eating right again, like we did before the cruise and the big turkey weekend. lol

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. :grouphug:

So I took the quiz and am considered spontaneous. Not sure if I agree with it or not. I really need to take the time and come on and post after my weigh in, but the last few weeks, I have worked Tuesday and Wednesday from about 8am to 9pm. So actually logging on to report things has been very difficult. Hence not posting what I have done. It seems like every other week I have been reporting in and want it to be weekly.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Becky: I was "spontaneous" too, and while I am definitely spontaneous at times, I'm not sure that I agree that the entire description fit me. LOL

Well ladies I am down 3 pounds from last Tuesday's weigh in, so as long as I don't blow it within the next 2 days, I'll be able to report a 3 pound loss! :banana:

Wow, SeaSpray, look at you! That would be an awesome loss to report.:)

I was down from last Tuesdays weigh in by 2 then stepped on the scale this morning, and it shows I'm up one. I'm still trying to figure that one out. We ent to DH's boss's Christmas party last night, and I really thought I was being goo. Raw veggies and fruit mostly. I did have one tamale and one glass of wine, and have not gotten my water in the past couple of days, so maybe that is it. I rarely drink these days (since August when I really began trying to lose weight), so I don't know how it affects my weight.

So far I am on track today. I won't be able to get to Curves until Tuesday evening, since DS8 has theatre class tomorrow evening, and I am missing it. I never thought I would say I miss exercising, but I love that place!:goodvibes

I will be heading to the mall later to the Disney store, and hopefully they will have the Christmas ornament I want still in. (The Cinderella glass slipper...so pretty!) We went to the outlet store yesterday and they were completely sold out. But all my boys picked out their ornaments for this year. (DS6 got Tink...too funny!)

Hope everyone's weekend is going well!

good morning teammies

it's going to be another crazy busy week for me -- i volunteer at a pantry and this is our week to collect, sort and distribute holiday gifts, on top of that i have a dinner tonight with my DH (he got an award at work) tomorrow night DD has a choir concert, thursday i have to work. urgh! i fear tomorrow's WI....i've been trying to portion control but it's so hard to not continue the overeating trend! Sat night we had our holiday party at work at a family-style Italian rest. it was very good and i tried to take small portions but that kept bringing out more entrees! seriously. i passed on two. i did have dessert and wanted more but resisted it. but i feel horribly puffy. i stepped on the scale once this week and was up like 3 lbs! urgh!!

i'm off to work out this morning, not sure if i can get the 200 mins in for the challenge but i'm going to make an effort!!

can you believe next Tuesday is our FINAL WEIGH IN???
