Good morning teammies! sure was quiet last week and i was one of the MIA with being gone for 4 days....here's to regrouping our last three weeks together!!

ok i just did my WI, which i was not looking forward too. i was up .6 lb which over a holiday i'll take. i'm still 7 lbs away from my goal for this challenge and three weeks to go....eek!!

one thing i HAVE to get back on is working out....i took some time off when my hip flared up and now there is no excuse. i'm still going to PT and she told me elliptical was good so i'm heading for 30 mins on the elliptical this morning. i have TONS to do around my house to decorate and get ready for the neighborhood party here Saturday night but i simply MUST make exercise a priority again. i'm sure some of my weight loss is losing muscle

we saw Enchanted too last Friday night and loved it!
 
I am WAY up here..........3 lbs - YIKES ! I was back on the routine yesterday but I still feel like Betty blimp.......

Gotta run - did manage 2 miles tming this morning and my tummy is rumbling so I guess that is a good sign:lmao:

Hope my teammies did MUCH better than I have over the holiday weekend!
 
Well friends, the news isn't good here either. I am up 4 lbs:eek: :sad2: A lot of water retention from all the salty foods plus I am coming down with a cold. I am going to get a whole bunch of those Progresso 0 points soups to eat and drink TONS of water to get myself feeling better.

I have a feeling this week will be not so good for many of the BL participants. Gonna kick butt next week though!

I am off to Target to see if they have a Wii. They said to check every morning and see if they have em. So everyday I will be going there before I go to work.

Well like all of you I have to report a gain as well. I am up 3 lbs.

Ohmom I hear you about the exercise! I need to get back into the swing of things too! :wizard: here's to both of us making this a great exercise week!

AEG - Good for you getting back into the swing of things. Those 3 lbs will be off next week!

Vern - I hope you feel better. How are those progresso 0 point soups? I was afraid to try them being that I am not a huge veggie soup person. Good luck on getting the Wii. Is it for your DD? You are all going to love it. And most of the games get you up off your butt so it is exercise! We already have one but were looking for one for a couple of friends and family. The one Sunday we decided to go to Toys R us because they had Wii games on sale when we walked in the door at 8:30 they asked if we were here for the Wii and they had 3 tickets left. We were 126 & 127. Talk about luck. So it does happen just when you least expect it. :wizard: heres to you finding one.

For all of us who gained I just know we will be down next week. For all of you that maintained great job and for all that post a loss :banana:

I weighed in on the other thread but to make it official for this week, I'll do it again. I registered no change this week, no loss but even better no gain. I have gone 13 weeks without a gain. My losses haven't been great (most less than 1 lb) but no gains.

I haven't been getting my AM workouts in like I'd like. It is near freezing or freezing outside in the mornings and I am a wimp. I would like to try to switch my outdoor walking to mid-morning or lunch but since I haven't really been working my regular schedule, due to my daughter being ill. She has been experiencing burning pelvic pain for 2 1/2 weeks. She was being treated for possilbe endometriosis, so they went ahead and scheduled the laproscopy to verify and possibly treat. But that is 10 days away.
 
Well add me to the list :sad2: I am up 3 pounds compared to my weigh-in exactly a week ago! :scared:

I know the reason: LOTS of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas, apple pie, etc PLUS to add insult to injury, last night I got home late so we ordered Chinese food delivery so I KNOW I'm retaining fluid in addition to actual weight gain.

Well I am optimistic! (Kind of have to be. LOL) We ALL will do better this week and have better weigh-ins next week! :grouphug:

P.S. I'm on break at work right now; I didn't take the time this morning to post before work because I was so bummed out about my gain! :surfweb:
 
Well, add me to the list too.... I weighed in yesterday and am up 3#! :scared1: time to kick it into gear! I worked out this morning and have been busy scrapbooking so my hands have been busy and not touching the snacks.

My birthday was great! DH and the kids surprised me with a cake and candles, roses, pearl and diamond earings, a picture DD drew, gum and a lolipop! I'll let you guess who provided the gum and lolipop! :rotfl: Got to love the family! I truly am a VERY lucky lady!!!

AlreadyexcitedGrammy, way to go getting the run in! Isn't it cold by you too? Or are you on a treadmil? It is FREEZING in Wisconsin! I really like warm, sunny Florida!

VernRDH, I hope you don't get too sick!:sick: good luck getting the wii, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I can't believe that they are marketing it this way. Since it came out last year you would think they would have more available. :confused3 I don't get that marketing strategy at all!

LaLaroo78, so what kind of games do you have for the wii? I would maybe consider one for next year, but I don't know if it is worth it. Do you like it? Is it worth the money?

disneychrista, You know you are truly an inspiration to our team! You have done sooooo well! Thanks for showing us that it can be done! You deserve a medal and a cheer!:cheer2: I hope your DD is feeling better and that the surgery goes well, please keep us posted!!!

SeaSpray, I know what you mean about the fluid retention, I bet we are going to have amazing numbers next week! I think I may sneak off to the other team threads and see how they are doing...:tiptoe:

veronica -- i'll join you on the wii-train. i had NO CLUE they would be hard to come by, i figured after black friday, no problem. wrong!

michele -- i got my workout done today!! yipppee!!

christa -- i'm sorry to hear your DD is still :sick: -- many prayers sending your way --- now have you tried walking in the cold? i actually like it, weird huh? as long as it's not icy. do you have good outdoor walking wear? the crisp air, i love it! but i hate that itchy thing in the shower when that oh so hot water hits the cold legs

seaspray -- thanks for bringing a good 'tude -

:hug: :hug: and :grouphug: to all of us this week, a gain after a holiday week isn't the end of the world, let's just be sure to turn it around. i stocked up on low cal/low fat canned soups today too :upsidedow

the elliptical went well, i actually did 40 mins, a cooldown and then did my PT exercises and stretches. it wasn't too much but i could tell i had done more than what had become my usual. i do love decorating, however i'm ready to be done ;) I have only a few scattered decor, don't know where to put it...and the dreaded putting the tubs back in the crawlspace until Jan 2. We are hosting our neighborhood party here this saturday so i'm glad it motivated me to get 'er done.
 
Well teamies, I am posting a loss for the week. Of 1.4 pounds.:goodvibes I am so excited I was able to stay on track over the weekend!

I do need to run now and finish up dinner before DH gets home. I'll check back in the morning!

Thanks everyone for the Wii wishes. Well today we got some:wizard: and DH got one!!! His coworkers wife is a manager at a Walmart and called them to tell them they had gotten some in. So they hot-footed it over to her store to snatch it up!!! This is for DD for Christmas, but really for all of us. We are probably only going to get the extra controller for now, and wait on more games. I got tickets for my inlaws to take my DD to see Cats at our local theater in Feb. for Christmas too. And we got new cell phones and added FIL to our plan, getting him the "Idiot phone", the one with the super huge buttons and no frills. We are giving it to him for Christmas, and are going to wrap it and while he's opening it, call the phone!! He'll probably have heart failure, but it should be fun.

On the Progresso soups-they are all veggies, absolutely no meat whatsoever. I can highly recommend the Southwest Veggies (smells like nachos when you open the can!) and the Vegetables and Noodles. The Italian style veggie is good too. Stay away from the vegetable and rice-some weird seasoning/herb in it gives it a very odd flavor. There are no points for 1/2 the can, one point for the whole can. It is nice to have with a half a sandwich or some crackers for lunch.

DD and I are both a bit under the weather:sick: with colds. I woke up with a sore throat and am stuffy. She has a cough and stuffiness. I put her to bed already, hoping that some extra sleep will help her feel better.

I am planning on spending my night in my recliner and watching Biggest Loser. Tomorrow is another day, I will be back on the treadmill in the am.
 
I had no gain or loss since two weeks ago. Time to kick it up a notch and get out of this funk I have been in for a year. I have gained and lost the same 5-10 pounds about 6 times in the past year. I am proud of myself for maintaining but I still have more weight to lose and it is bothering me.

:wave2: Hi, Everyone! l did the maintaining thing again this week. I've been battling a cold, and the Cold FX are beginning to work, so hopefully, I am over the worst of it. Don't get too down on yourselves because of the rising scales. I'm betting that most of you didn't drink your water, so I'm also betting that being conscientious about that this week will land you a loss next week! pixiedust:
 
i'm on the cold train :sick: last night i was getting super-stuffy and took Nyquil and fell asleep shortly after 10 -- my lovely DH got up early and said he'd take DD to school and i fell back asleep until 7:30 .....and still i feel like a mac truck hit me. ears, throat, the whole bit.....hopefully the cold med will kick in but for now i'm going for coffee and BL on the DVR. i had planned on the 8:15 class today, i just can't do it. i WILL take the dog on a brisk walk this afternoon instead

Well we've been without power. It is 43 degrees in my house this morning. I hear shivering helps burn calories.;) I never thought I would look forward to going to work.:lmao:

I exercised my backside off this week, and I can report a 2.3 pound loss.

Ohmom - Good for you! See your getting back on track! I didn't get a workout in last night because it was my mom's b-day and I had family over for cake. I did one Monday and will do one tonight for sure.

Vern - Glad you got a Wii. I know that your DD will love it. My neice (who I think is the same age as your DD) asks to play it as soon as she walks in the door. It's so much fun!

Vija - I have all different types of games for the Wii. From sports to trivia to mario games and even guitar hero. I am such a kid a heart. To me the Wii is worth it. I love it and its nice that the whole family can play too. I love the fact that it gets you up off of the couch and moving.

Geekerbell - Congrats on the loss! :cool1:

ReAnSt - You'll start losing again soon! Have you tried changing some things up? I know when I get stuck losing and gaining those same few pounds I chang up my exercise routine and that seemed to help me. Good luck I know you can do it!

Debbie - Congrats on maintaining. You're right I didn't drink enough water last week. I have to get back into that!

MIdanceMom - Congrats on your loss! :banana:

How's everyone doing so far this week? I'm doing okay. TOM has come to visit, so I'm battling serious food cravings, but so far so good. Still hoping for a new clippie next week.
 


OhMom, I love the neighborhood parties! sounds like you are on a roll with exercise! WAY TO GO! Oh dear, I just read you are not feeling well, hang in there and take care of yourself. It is ok to go lay down and take a nap. I know you are busy getting ready for your party, but take care of yourself.

VernRDH, hope you are feeling better and way to go on getting the wii! congrats!

ReAnSt, it is miserable to gain and loose the same 5-10 pounds, I know. But I think if you kick it into gear now, you will have an excpetional holiday season, and feel very proud of yourself. Then next year when you hear holiday music, it will bring back happy thoughts about this time of year, and you will get out of the funk!

Hey everyone, I am doing better today. I have been in a funk because I have gained weight/maintained for quite a few weeks and frustrated that I haven't been able to kick it into gear.

After some soul searching I think I am going to branch off on my own. I have not been following the WW plan at all, and I know I get so cought up in being "perfect" with the numbers that at this point in time it is not the right plan for me. Maybe in the future, but not now. I was inspired by Oprah's show yesterday and dug out my Bob Greene book. I went online today to look up some success stories and actually found a website that lists pros and cons of various weight loss programs. I got frustrated with the cons from Bob Greenes book and felt very lost.... I started researching some of the other programs and felt more lost and it felt "hopeless". With tears streaming down my face, after a while I actually got fed up, and ANGRY!!! (BUt in a good way... who says I have to follow someone elses plan to reach my goals) I know what I need to do and I decided to "heck with it", I will create my OWN plan! I will take tidbits from each plan and make it work for me. I know what I want, I know what I need to do, so I will start out and pave my own road.

AND surprisingly I feel very at peace with this decision. I signed up for my DH's lean you program through work (it is a healthy incentive program) and am ready to get started on my own path.

For this week I am going to take some of Bob greene's ideas, which are very basic common sense things that we all know already.

During my meals, I can eat what I want, I am not changing that right now
Snacks however have to be healthy!!! and plan in 1-2 snacks a day
Stop eating 2 hours before bedtime
drink a glass of water before meals
take a vitamin daily
exercise 30 minutes 5x a week

This is something I know I can work with right now. My snacking is out of control and this is a start.
