Hi everyone!! Go BLACK team!!
My name is Amanda and I'm 33 years old. I have been married for 12 years and have a wonderful almost 4 year old daughter who is the light of my life. I started late having a child (children) - I was 29 when she was born. Whether we have a second is up in the air, but either way I want to see Sammi grow up and if she ends up with a little brother or sister I want to see them grow up as well. I want to be there for Sam for a very long time. I want her to learn healthy eating habits now and for her to never have a weight problem. I have been overweight since I started dating my husband. We both need to lose so it will be a "family" affair. We both just need to get it together and work out a schedule and quit eating out. I'm seriously considering WW meetings for the accountability alone.
I am going on vacation to Disney from 9/14-9/23 on the dining plan and I plan to enjoy alll the foods offered - but hopefully all the walking will counteract the eating. I will weigh in for 9/18 on the Friday before I leave if that's okay.
Good luck everyone! We have a great team!

During the broken leg process, we built our house, planned the wedding and I started a new job. We were married in May of 2001, 6 months after the broken leg... With everything going on all at once and the lack of energy from the re-couping broken leg, I've gradually gained 45lbs since we have been married. I've set a small, but attainable goal of at least 1lb per week with the hopes of being back to my wedding weight by our next Disney trip in May of next year. We have a Vero Beach trip planned in October of Next year and I hope to contine losing until then. Let's just say I was litte over weight when I got married!
We have no kids and no pets. Hopefully kids in the future though--definately got to shed some of this weight first though!!!
About the same time, I went from being a SAHM and working part-time to working full time and returning to school. Between the stress of my workload plus the fact that I was drinking at least a glass of wine a day
(doing it for my health-seriously, my dad had his first heart attack at 42 and passed by 61), my weight increased little by little. I know now I cannot drink wine (even if I count the points). I can drink beer without it affecting my weight for some reason, but it doesn't taste as good as the wine so I only imbibe occasionally. I hope my heart doesn't suffer.
Oh yeah, I couldn't lose the weight even though I still did points and exercised; that's how I know it was the wine.
What do you think???

How exciting for you, and an awesome reason to be healthier.
