BL 3 -- Black team week 1

Congratulations Marcy! That is wonderful news!

It is so nice to read the bios of all of you guys. It sounds like we have a great team. Go Black Team!:cheer2:

Congrats fluffernutter!! We're so happy for you!

I'm back to do the introduction thing...I'm a Disney fanatic, and a SAHM (although I also am a substitute teacher). I've been happily married for 14 years to the man of my dreams that I met on a blind date (that makes two of us on the team:sunny:). I have a DD that is 12 and a DS that is 10. They are both involved in many activities (swim team, cheerleading, gymnastics, football, baseball, etc.). I try to exercise regularly, but when we get busy, it is always the first thing to go from the schedule. Being on this team will hopefully help me to get my priorities straight. I have 39 lbs. to "magically" lose :genie:

:drinking1 heres to another great day of eating healthy and exercise!!!!:drinking1 (its only water) have a good day!:rotfl:

Good Thursday morning. Let's work on having another great day. I won't be on much today since I start teaching in a little while. I will check in later today.

Have a great day everyone.

Just an update......40 more minutes on the elliptical last night, and I'm having a nice bowl of cottage cheese for breakfast. I've really focused on the water consumption this week, too. I think that helps a lot. I'm so excited about this journey!!

Good Morning All!

Just wanted to tell everyone to have a great day! :grouphug:

I just got off the treadmill. Burned 320 calories!!! Yeah!

Congrats to all those who are working out. Keep up the good work.

I will start back on exercise over the weekend. Getting back to school is a very tiring situation. Last night dh and I were both asleep by 9:30. Then the stupid phone woke us up at 9:40

Hi, everyone! Just thought I'd take a minute and introduce myself. I'm 35 (soon to be 36 - next month), married for 15 years, with one daughter (8 years old). I am more than 100 pounds overweight, and have had a weight problem for most of my life. I'm starting to log my food, and have actually kept at it for more than just part of one day. For me -- that's something! I've also started taking walks each evening, and dusted off my Gazelle (for evenings when outdoor walks aren't possible). We're planning our first Disney trip for May 2008, and I really don't want to be huffing and puffing trying to walk around the World.

Good Morning Black Team!! Well with our vacation right around the corner I'm just trying to watch what I eat and make better choices. I am also trying to cut back on pop (It's diet - but still) and drink a lot more water. Of course I'm paying for it with a constant dull headache. I know it has to get better though. Keep up the good work everyone!!

Congracts Marcy!!! We'll just have to take up the slack for you and lose more weight! :)

Hope everyone's day is going well!!! Keep up that exercise  and water drinking!

I officially registered to do the 5K Family Fun Run in Jan for Disney's Marathon Weekend. DH and I are both registered! Here's to hoping I make it! :woohoo:

I'd love to know if anyone has done it before or will be doing it this coming January! Running around the AK looks like lots of fun (and a lot of work!)

Hi everyone
thanks for the well wishes! I spoke with ohmom and she said I can definitely still be part of the team,we just wont count my numbers
woo hoo

Im so proud of you all for exercising and doing well so far. My exercise right now is running after these 2 and pushing them i the double stroller, its really a workout in itself. I go to the dr Monday so I will see what other exercise he will say is okay for me. Im considered high risk due to my age and other factors but I have the leslie sansone walk at home tapes so I think those should be okay.
as far as eating goes,Im soooo hungry but Im just eating healthy and filling up on lowfat cottage cheese and pinneapple and my edaname and veggie burgers and of course drinking my water. Im trying to focus on getting enough dairy.
Last pregnancy I craved red swedish fish and carvel hot fudge sundaes,Im vowing to you all i wont do that this time,I cant swear I wont cave in a little for a craving ,but who knows maybe my cravings this time will before apples and broccol, lol
Doctor said to me last night,to limit sweets and avoid caffeine and artificial sweeteners so Im looking for some tips for something sweet to drink thats not sugar or artificial when I get a craving...hhmmm????
and I dont like juice, this is going to be hard.
any ideas,tips

keep up the good work everyone,we will do this!!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Doesn't it feel good to actually be doing something about our weight besides trying to "wish" it away?

I've exercised every day so far. Today I did all kinds of cardio exercises to the Disney Planning Video. I just mixed them all in while I watched scenes of my favorite place. I also used 2 lb. weights as I moved.

Let's keep going!

I hope everyone is having a great day. Marcy, I am glad you are still part of the team. Congrats again on the pregnancy. When are you due? Maybe we can have a virtual baby shower for you when it gets closer.

I am doing good so far on my eating and exercising. I have already done 3 miles on the bike, and I plan on doing 2 or 3 more tonight. I haven't been able to start the couch to 5k program yet since I have been sick with a cold for the last few days, and my sister who has the treadmill doesn't want germs in her house.

Go Black Team:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi everyone,

I'll make this short and sweet. Well, I'll try. :rotfl: I've voted myself off your team. Seriously, I've PMed Donac and asked her to omit me. And apologized for wasting people's time.

I joined at the 11th hour because I was just starting to read Intuitive Eating at the time and I was torn what was best for me. (the idea of the book and weighing in weekly/competition are not compatible)

I'm now further into the book and decided that it's best for me to bow out. I've slowly lost 25 pounds this year and have decided to keep on the same path and finish the book and see where it takes me.

I wish all of you the best. There's a lot of fantastic energy on this thread. Tons. I will be cheering for you all.

Thanks for listening,

Lisa

Popping in to let you know I WISH you all well as you are taking on the challenge! Go for it Black Team!

:yay: :cheer2:

Congrats Marcy! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I've been very good this week. Well, I'm not much of a "cheater" anyway. While I've done WW for 7 years, I've never once gone to a meeting and I still lost 70 # because I am the one who suffers if I don't do what I'm supposed to do; some strange woman behind a scale does not intimidate me (now put my husband or mother there and it's a different story :guilty: ). But this time, I am not only accountable to myself but to you all. I keep thinking how disappointed everyone would feel if we lost by only a couple of pounds and I knew that if I had stuck to my eating plan and not skipped exercise because I wasn't in the mood, we may have won. I would feel awful! So I keep going for my teammates!

Unfortunately, I can't exercise on Fridays cause it's a long day of class, studying, a lab, and a meeting :coffee: . But I will pack my lunch and drink my water so all is good.

Hope everyone has a great day!
