Back in July of 2009 - the manufacturing company that DH works for (he is IT Mgr) cut all salaried employees pay by 10% across the board. A 10% hit to our family budget was tough - I couldn't tighten the belt quite enough so I returned to work part-time.
Now the company has "returned" 5% or half of that original pay cut back to the salaried employees paychecks -
I know news stories have been saying for quite awhile that things are improving for the economy but it is nice when it finally shows in your family budget that things are on an upswing.
I'm pretty cynical and never believed the company would reinstate the higher salaries - so I'm thrilled with 5% and hopefully that if things continue to improve for the business that he may just get his entire original salary back!
