Bistro de Paris or Artist Pointe?

DH and I are planning one night out a deux and I can't decide where to make the ADR. We ate at Bistro on our honeymoon (12 years ago! ) so it would be a nice memory. But we're staying at WL, will be leaving the kiddos at Cub's Den, and have heard good things about AP. Neither of us drink (so wine selection won't sway us one way or the other) and the menus both have items that appeal to us. Based on your experiences, which would you choose if you were us?

Does the fact that AP takes the DP and Bistro doesn't (necessitating an OP payment) affect your choice?

Ah, such horrid decisions we have to make in life!

My DH and I had this exact discussion this past weekend!

We ate at Bistro de Paris in 2004 while our two boys stayed at the Neverland Club. We decided we'd like another evening out sans children when we go back this summer but couldn't decide where to eat!

We ended up making an ADR at Artist Point since we've never eaten from there and the menu sounded soooo good.

Ugh..that is a terribly hard choice as those are two of our favorites.

Both are oustanding.

Le Bistro is much smaller, more intimate and romantic and you will rarely see a child in there.

Artist Point..so wonderful, there will be children, but they can easily be ignored..as most are well behaved.

Le Bistro..you will have to allow yourself plenty of time to get to EPCOT and to the restaurant..so it means getting ready for dinner earlier than you would have to if you stay and dine right at WL..so for convenience WL is a bit ahead.

Other than that..either choice you make will be fantastic!

I would go for AP as I would have more time to relax, but they are both good choices!

We're big fans of AP - but it is not the most romantic restaurant - its kind of a large room with a huge vaulted ceiling. But it is very quiet and the tables are spaced far enough away that you can have private conversation. It feels pretty laid back to me, but a very nice place to eat as well. The food is IMHO fantastic and its our favorite place to eat. Have you thought about CG - you could easily take the boat there and back from WL. CG is louder than AP. I've never eaten at Bistro so I can't comment on that, but it is a LONG bus ride to Epcot from WL and then a long walk to France.

Dh and I had a date night at Artist Point a couple years ago. It was wonderful, quiet, our server was great, our meal was great...I can't say enough good things. It is a huge room but our little table for two was perfect. We only saw one child in the restaurant and all it made us think was "oh, she's cute, but we're glad ours isn't here so we can enjoy our meal"

AP has wonderful food and the service is great there. I would say go with AP, you really can't go wrong!

Artist Point is a must do for us each trip! We have eaten at Bistro also (great ambience), but we keep going back to AP (love it)
Try the portabello mushroom soup if you decide on AP, it is "to die for!!"

I vote for Artist Point since you are staying at WL. You can either save on the cost/time of the Cub's Den, or enjoy the bonus time not spent getting to/from Epcot

No experience with Bistro, but AP is fantastic! We ate here in 2004 and left the kids in the Cub's Den (which they LOVED, by the way!! They didn't want to leave and asked if they could go back again that week...ummm, no! Not for $10 an hour each! LOL)

Anyway, we've eaten at AP twice, and we just LOVE it! The Chef's selection menu is a great way to sample their popular dishes...and I think it's a pretty good deal as well.

The Smokey Portabello Mushroom Soup is INCREDIBLE...and the berry cobbler is yummy too!!

We have eaten at both and for me it would have to be Bistro de Paris for the romance factor... We have been a few times and have always enjoyed our meal. Last time we had the Menu de Degustation, which was absolutely outstanding! I would thoroughly recommend it.

Whichever restaurant you choose I'm sure you will have a magical evening!

We ate at both on our honeymoon in December. I would recomend AP over Bistro but just barely. The food was very very good at both and the atmosphere can't be beat at either. The ONLY reason I'm saying AP is that the waiter at Bistro just wan't disney friendly. It wasn't anything major, he just seemed to dislike his job. If your looking for super romantic though go Bistro because of the size it's much much more intimate and romantic. Ok so that doesn't seem like much help, but anyway good luck.

Personally I would choose Bistro de Paris. It was one of my favorite restaurants, and it has a romantic atmosphere.

We just had dinner at Artist's Point on Thursday night and my DH and I both thought it was wonderful. Our server was fantastic, and the best part of the meal was that it was so quiet and unrushed. After spending the rest of the week being hurried out of every restaurant so they could turn tables faster, it was very nice to have a nice leisurely dinner without rushing through. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend it

I just ate at Artist Point for my first time on my trip in the fall and I was blown away. The service was wonderful and the food was great. I would reccomend it to anyone.

Artist Point hands down!
Don't get me wrong, Bistro is nice, and we usually book our Candlelight Processional packages there... however, AP is a must do every trip. Our meals and service have always been top notch there. (And there is usually few children which make it more romantic... no flames please! )

Thanks for the helpful responses. I just called to make our ADR for AP. It seems the majority who could make a (tough) decision went for AP. And I have to admit that spending $40/hr at the Cubs Den forces us to use our time wisely--the time getting to and from Epcot could be better spent on a walk around the resort, on the beach, or a side trip back to the room ...
