Anyone fly out of this airport? We had the option of flying with Southwest out if Flint, or Delta out of Detroit. Everyone in our party has flown out of Detroit, but not Flint. We got some good Southwest prices so we booked out of Flint.

What is the airport like? Is it large, easy to get around etc....

It's a typical small regional airport. It was better than any the I have been in and I would not hesitate to use it again. I prefer it over DTW hands down!

Thank you food your response! Its been 12 years since we never flown and the kids have never, so I was hoping it wouldn't be overwhelming and big. We aren't going until September but I have a little guy with severe anxiety and I want to prepare him as much as possible.

Much prefer FNT to DTW.

Easy in and out, right off the highway.

Easy parking, we park in the regular long term parking and not economy, cheaper than DTW also.

Check in is easy (although we usually arrive pretty early in the morning). 8 gates (I think) so there isn't a long line for security - although to counter this there is only one or two lines open.

Oh my goodness I hate typing on this tablet, look at all those mistakes! I didn't even notice them lol

I am feeling good about our choice. Our flight is at 9:30am, dh doesn't want to do park and fly at a hotel the night before so it will be an early day for us. I'm hoping to convince him though. Its an 1hr 45 minutes away plus we have to cross the border. Even if we leave at 4:30 am that doesn't even allow for any delays at the border.

love Bishop airport, closer for us than metro, Parking is easy and cheaper and not as crazy as metro. We try to fly out of Flint as much as possible now.

Before Air Tran came to Grand Rapids, we flew out of Flint a few times. It is a very small, very easy to navigate airport. We would leave our car in the cheapest secure lot, which is right across the street. They follow you with their little bus, and drive you right across to the terminal. Easy as pie!

My airport of choice. I live about 15 minutes south. My airtran flight flys right over my condo. Nice small airport. Very friendly. I have seen some really long lines early morning for the security screening but they move along really well. Last Time I flew the airtran 7am flight several other adults in line where headed for Disney's Food & Wine festival. We all enjoyed our chat so much we thought the lined moved to fast, lol. I love the Delta terminal at DTW but still will fly out of Bishop as long as I can get a non stop flight. If not i will fly out of Detroit. I am flying out of Bishop in April for the F&G show at Disney. Can't wait to see Paul Revere and The Raiders again:banana: I do have to say you are pretty brave crossing the border early morning and hoping for no delays to catch your flight on time. will you be driving I69 or 75...
