Birthdays for Men Question?

Just a question....
Every year I order a decorated birthday cake or jumbo cookie from the mall for my husbands birthday that I drop off at his job.

This year he just reached a milestone at work so I got him a cake and now I thought about making cupcakes next month for his birthday.

Do men get cupcakes for a birthday?

He works with 90% men.

Is Homemade good?
Cupcakes ok for men or should I make a cake?

Just thinking maybe something different this time around.

They were giving out cupcakes in the lobby of my building yesterday for Valentines Day. 90% of the people in line were men including myself. Not sure why men would not like a cupcake.

I don't see why cupcakes would be an issue? I mean if they were pink and purple with glitter and unicorn toppers then I would say go another route, lol. But regular cupcakes . . . go for it!

Homemade is good. Always prefer that to store bought or from a box. Worth the extra effort.

I think cupcakes are a great choice since they are individual and you don't have to worry about bringing plates/forks/a knife to slice a cake/etc.

Totally! They're perfect for office eating, which is largely grab-and-go.

I love but I prefer to eat them with a fork and plate cause they can be messy especially if the amount of frosting is over the top. If one is expected to eat them as is, I usually pass, depending as I said on how messy they might be. But that’s just me...
Bottom line is I’m comfortable enough in my masculinity to eat a cupcake.

Once I made a trick cake for my dh's birthday. I made a meatloaf in a round cake pan, frosted it with mashed potatoes and decorated it with mustard and ketchup. If you're that worried about being manly you could make a cupcake version of that.

That is how my husband eats a cupcake ANY time he has one, lol!

Sprinkles does a fine job on that end for my money. I'm not a fan of the Disney type cupcakes where the cake is dry and there is way too much wierd tasting icing in odd colors.

Cupcakes are fine. At the office, it is far less work/mess then a cake which requires cutting, plates and forks to eat it. More work for whomever has to do that. At our office, people eat anything that is free and brought by someone else...…….LOL. No one cares if it is for a man or woman.

As I've learned from the Great British Baking Show, in the UK they call them "fairy cakes". I can see that being just a shade too kindergarten-girlish for some guys to embrace but "cupcake" doesn't sound so bad.

In my opinion cupcakes are %100 fine. Nice and easy.
