Opinions please - I have always felt this was okay, but what do you guys think --
We are taking a friend to WDW for their bday....but we will be there the weekend before the actual birthday. Can we still celebrate it at meals???
Thanks!

This, like wearing the birthday button, is a matter of personal opinion. Most people do celebrate on whatever day works for them, or even the whole trip. I however feel funny doing that. We had planned to let DS "celebrate" his birthday a couple days late on our Dec trip, but when it came down to it, we felt silly and didnt do it. But if you are comfortable doing it, go for it...most people do. :D

We are going a week after dbf's birthday...but since we probably won't actually be celebrating until we are down there due to work and such, I made a note on one of my dinner ressies that we would be celebrating his birthday.
However, I say do whatever you are comfortable with. WDW is a place to celebrate anyway.

We are going for three birthdays. DS(turning 9), DS turning 4), and I(turning 33) and will celebrate on the respective days. We are lucky to have timed it properly. We will only be wearing the pins on the correct day and that day is solely to celebrate. Our meals are planned around each one's favorites and such...

I agree that is a personal choice. If our timing didn't work out, I would probably pick a day for each of us and not think about it.
However we are going to be there for two weeks and don't think it would be right to do the "birthday thing" for the whole time.

But again....to each his/her own

We are going to WDW in Jan. My husband will have just returned home from 9 months in Iraq. In those 9 months he will have missed, Valentine's Day, Easter, Daughter's Birthday (3), Wedding Anniversary, My Mom's Birthday (she lives with us), My Birthday, His Birthday and Thanksgiving. We plan on celebrating those events in Jan even though none of them are taking place in Jan. Do not feel funny. You need to do whatever is best for your family. We plan on buying cakes and special desserts like the Cinderella Slipper, Chocolate Mickey & Strawberries, mini wedding cake, etc...... Enjoy the time you have a Disney and celebrate whatever you want. It is your money that you are spending for the trip.

ENJOY!

We're celebrating my daughter's 6th bday while there, altho we'll be there a week and a half later. We couldn't time it exactly on her bday, but our main reason for travelling at that time is to celebrate her bday. We are planning on a bday dinner at O'Hana's the night we arrive and a bday b'fast at CRT. If she wants to wear her button all week, that is fine w/me. Maybe she'll be picked for the parades or Lion King show - hey, you're only 6 and in the World once in your life!!!

Brooklyn - so glad your husband is returning home! We wish you and your family the best and a wonderful, well-deserved vacation!!
