Today is the day for Animal Kingdom and I am really looking forward to it. But first I have to go to MGM and pick up my pins from the Pin Event. I ordered 1 of each except for the 3 shows and I ordered 2 of each of those as I have someone I want to give them to. She is collecting the interpreted shows only. I hurry up and do that and in line to enter I spot someone with a boa so I introduce myself. It is Olbear. I see several others with boas but they are to far away. Once we enter I head for Stage 1 and go through line and get the pins. Then we head for AK

Arrive at Animal Kingdom and go through security. Then I head for Festival of the Lion King since I know I have already missed Pocahantas. Get in and seated in the Warthog section and my dh parked my wheeklchair out of the way. Look back at the exit and Brian is peeking out. Wave hi to him. Now the show starts but you don't get the first of the spiel because the interpreters don't come on until the first of the cast enters. I am watching them but also looking to see whole the blue bird is today. I see her strut on and it is definately Jessie, my daughter's friend from school. She looks as beautiful as ever. THe interpreters are Brian and Sabrina. I guess Tara got sent somewhere else. Rats. But Sabrina is good. She has really improved since Christmas and seems more comfortable with the shows. There are several more deaf and we chat before the show. We don't get to talk to the interpreters after because they go off with the cast with this show.

Next we grab something to eat in Dinoland before Tarzan. My dh decides not to see Tarzan but let me go alone. This ends up to be a bit of a problem. I forgot there are stairs to get doown to the interpreted section and I haven't gone down stairs by myself in about 5 years. And there is no rail to help. The castmembers clearly doesn't understand so I tell her to call her supervisor. After about 5 minutes they take me down the ramp on the opposite side because there is supposedly no ramp on the correct side. I know there is but it is backstage and no one wants to take me that way. So they switched the interpreters to the side I am on for the show. I bet that gets straightened out. After I apologized to Brian and Sabrina for being such a pain but I didn't want to fall down those stupid stairs.

Next it is off to Flights of Wonder which I have never seen. Well I've seen a similar show at Miami's Metrozoo but not the one at AK. The castmember here is confused also and starts to put me in the back but I finally get up to where I need to be. The show is just as nice as the one I see all the time. Has a few cute additions and some humour as well.

Now I am off to Rafiki's Planet Watch to see the indoor talk. Brian is interpreting that and tehy are talking about tarantulas. The ask for questions and no one is asking so I sign my question and Brian voices it. I want to know how long they live. Why? Because I want to know how long I am stuck with the one my daughter has. 25 - 33 years. Yuck, I guess I will have to keep it while she goes to Japan to work for the Mouse.

Finally I am off to see the parade. I love this parade. I get to the viewing spot and it is filled with wheelchairs and there is no place for the deaf. They move us over to the opposite side. Great spot except Brian and Sabrina have no shade. Straight on shot of the parade btw. The castmembers move a bench over for us to sit on. There are 4 of us there. Two are students from Gallaudet on break. Brian and Sabrina are really silly with this parade. They are singing, signing and bouncing all over and having a great time. I love this parade and the one at MGM. Ah shucks its over. Say my good byes to Brian and Sabrina and Brian says he will see me again tomorrow if I come to MGM. I'm planning to as my daughters are meeting us there after driving up form Ft Myers. One is coming home with us while the other will visit friends at UCF and come home on Wed after teaching a viola lesson in Ft Myers. She has 4 students there.

We sadly leave AK and head back to Coronado Springs. Decide to eat dinner at the sit down restaurant. A huge t-bone, black beans and rice and maduros (fried plantain) I am absolutely stuffed. Back to the room to study some more for the midterm.

A great day you had and your dinner sounds yummy too. Thanks for posting!
