Birthday surprise!

My wife surprised me with a weekend trip (1/22-1/25/16)for my 50th birthday! We own points at BWV,VWL and SSR. OKW and SSR was the only DVC resorts showing availability. We have never stayed at SSR so she chose that. Any advice on what building to stay in? Any other need to know for this resort?

I have only stayed in a Treehouse Villa in SSR, but we loved this resort. I am sorry I can't advise on room location. Happy Birthday!!

I always recommend grandstand section with a pool view. It's not too far of a walk to the main building, the pool there is nice (though you may not use it in Jan), and the bus stop in grandstand section is the first picked up when leaving and the first dropped off when returning. If you ask for a pool view, you'll be in one of the 2 buildings that are close to the bus stop and the pathway that lead right up to the main building. The actual building number we prefer is 8501-8836. It's closest to the pathway to the main building, right by the pool, and about a minute or so walk to the bus stop for the grandstand section.
