Can anyone help with ideas or phone numbers. My wife's B'Day is June 12 and we are eating at the California Grill that night. I know Disney can do a B'Day cake (any idea on what number to call?) or does any one have any other ideas to surprise her,my three DS will be in tow, ages 7,5 and 2. Thanks for your help.

Are you planning to watch the fireworks from the California Grill? I have heard that if you keep your receipt (if your dining time doesn't fall during the fireworks, same day only) that you can come back to watch the fireworks on the terrace (I think they talked about it on the podcast a long time ago). Or you could ride the monorail over to the polynesian and watch the electrical water pageant go by. It is fun and free and your kids would probably like it. You can see the fireworks from the beach or the dock and then watch the parade go by right after (on the lagoon- it is like a mini electrical parade on the water).

birthday button of course, a special cake, getting a sitter for the kids and making it to the two of you? spa treatment in the afternoon?

Make sure they know at the California Grill - we did DH's birthday there last fall and it was wonderful - window seat with confetti on the table...I didn't order the cake (he prefers anything that resembles apple pie) He ordered his dessert and it came with a chocolate "postcard" thing with Happy Birthday Carl written on it in white chocolate. They took our picture for us & presented it to us before we left. I think they would have extended our dinner until the fireworks if I hadn't booked the fireworks cruise. DD was there - 5 at the time, and she thought it was great.
Do the birthday button too...and make sure the kids are near by - DH was hesitant on the birthday button until a great CM & DD got together on it - he had to pinky swear to wear it all day.

Just be prepared if you are there for sunset. The waiter that hollered out "Sunset at the California Grill" scared me out of my skin! I had already been snapping sunset pictures when he hollered.

One other idea - with 3 kids you could find a way to "divide & hide" and have the kids get a card signed by your wife's favourite character(s) and give that to her as well.

We went one year on my DH's B-day - I contacted Disney Florists and had them deliver a package to our room - it was there upon our arrival. Also, because the hotel knew it was my DH's b-day - on the second night when we got back to the hotel there was a card & balloons. The card was a photo of Mickey and it was personally signed my the mouse himself. ;)

I don't have the number for Disney Florists but you can google them and find it out pretty easy! Good Luck and have a wonderful vacation!!! :cool1:

We got the best chocolate cake with choc mouse filling and buttercream iceing. It had Tink on it and was very very good!!! I used the number in the link someone posted above. You have to order at least 48 hours in advance, it cost about $60 with the white choc tink and was totally worth it.

We've done the cake a couple of times for mine and my daughters birthday. You can reserve a cake at the podium or check in when you arrive to dine, or you can have one with your wife's name if you reserve in advance.

You can call 407-WDW-DINE and they will give you the number to reserve the cake. Sorry, I didn't have it written down. Be careful however when you talk to the Disney Dining. The way the girl phrased it to me the first time was that I could not call until 48 hours before the event. So I called 2 days before and was told I'm not supposed to call that late to reserve a cake. They were still able to get us a cake with our daughter's name and 2 candles (she turned 2, normally they only do 1.) If you're going this route, be sure to call well before the event!!

Oh and the cake? Very thick with frosting but we like that kind of thing!

This may be silly...but last year on my birthday at WDW my sister got me a surprise appointment at Bibbidi Boddibi Boutique at DTD. Might not be your wife's cup of tea, but I LOVED it. I felt a little silly at first, but they were excellent at the Boutique, made a big fuss and it turned out to be one of my best birthday memories ever. :goodvibes
