just wondering if universal does anything special for birthdays. We are going to the resort for our son's eighth birthday. We are staying at Royal Pacific. And if they do do anything, how do we make sure gets done for us on?

Also, are we able to make reservations at the park restaurants, including the Harry Potter ones? If so, how do I do this? Thanks!

The Potter restaurants are counter service....no reservation. Mythos and others you can reserve if you feel the need, we never do. They have a booth you can reserve same day if you feel like it. Unless it`s Christmas or particularly busy time there`s usually no necessity to do so.

As for birthdays they have selection of things you can order.......they are very good.

The Harry Potter restaurants are quick service, but I believe you can still make reservations for breakfast. For the full service restaurants within each of the parks, you can make reservations right through the web site but they typically aren't necessary. And if you're staying onsite, you're eligible for priority seating. Also, only some City Walk restaurants take reservations.

For birthdays, you can ask guest services for a button like they give you at WDW. I don't know of anything else complimentary they do though.
