Birthday Presentation...((HELP))

My daughter is in first grade and instead of having the traditional cupcakes for a child's birthday the teacher has decided she wants each parent to come in with the birthday child and give a birthday presentation. BY>>> reading a child's favorite book and or showin photos of the child's life. NO TREATS ALLOWED... I want to do something or show something that will keep little kids entertained and make it fun for my daughter.

Any creative ideas??

Between the 2 choices, I'd pick reading my child's favorite book to them. When DD was younger, I'd volunteer to go in and read and it was a blast. they loved it and I did too!

This may require more work for you, but you could always write a story with your daughter and show pictures of her and your family as part of the story?

Wow. That could be hard for parents who have trouble getting time off from work....I see some really sad 1st graders whose parents can't come.

I'd go through your photos with DD and ask her to pick out 7-10 pictures, and have her pick out the book to read. It'll mean more if DD picks the pictures (but be prepared for ones that you wouldn't necessarily pick out).

You could choose a favorite picture, and a quote from the book, and make bookmarks for the kids in the class with your computer. Cardstock and clear contact paper work well. Have fun with it!
