I am trying not to over do it when it comes to favors. We recently moved and the goody bags now are alot smaller then our old neighborhood. Which I think is great! I just want to get some opinions if this would be ok. I bought some foam craft projects to make your own light switch plate, flowers for the girls, sports for the boys. They will do these at the party as an activity. Then I also found some face stickers to decorate your balloon. Then I figure just get a mix bag of candy to add a couple pieces to each bag. Does this seem small to you because that is what I am going for? The party will be at the local pizza place.

That sounds fine to me. Favor bags are so difficult to do, and usually DD ends up getting stuff that just gets thrown away. Those sound like great ideas.

Sounds fine to me. One time instead of bags I used the hard plastic cups and wrote the kids names on them with a paint pen. They used them at the party (and knew which cup belonged to who), I washed them and filled with a little candy before they left.

So now I have another question. My DD5 soon to be 6 does not need a ton of gifts and she knows this. She is still saying she wants to give gifts to the "hurricane kids". Would it be inappropriate to ask for a donation in her name to the red cross or salvation army instead of a gift? She is OK with this she is a very giving child.

What a sweet girl! I don't think it would inappropriate at all to suggest donations in lieu of gifts. If I got an invitation with that request, I'd be touched and impressed by the girl's generosity. But maybe make sure you word it so guests know it was your dd's idea.

One of DD's friends had a BD party recently and on the invitation it said to bring can goods for the local food pantry instead of gifts. I thought this was a great idea.

I love this idea too! I think it would be much easier on the parents.

My DD just came home from school with an invite for tomorrow!
