Birthday Party at Disneyland

Have you had an experience at DL with their birthday party offers? My son is going to be 10 and I'm afraid the party things might be a little too childish for him. Thoughts?
Did you feel the price you paid was worth it? I'm thinking I could do better for less.
I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks about the Disneyland (not WDW) birthdays. Thanks!

I haven't done it, but I have two comments:

1. You'll probably get a better response posting this on the Disneyland board here at the DIS.

2. From what I've read, everyone in your party gets a small cake to decorate. Mickey and Minnie come out for pictures.

It might not be that exciting for your 10 year old, unless he loves getting pic with Minnie and Mickey.
