I will possibly be spending my birthday in wdw for the first time ever. I want to do a meal where something special is done for birthday...I was hoping more for a character meal w/ special character attention...my favorite character is chip...what would you reccomend?

There is no guarantee that anything special will be done. We went to the Crystal Palace and it had been noted on our ADR that I was celebrating my birthday. They decorated the table with ribbons, confetti and brought me a card signed by Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore and then brought a cupcake out for me. Eeyore had already been by, but he was still in the area when they brought out the cupcake and he came back and gave me another hug (and I was celebrating my 50th birthday!).

What about Cape May cafe, at the Beach Club? It's an easy walk from Epcot and they do a nice birthday cake deal. If you want Chip there is also the Garden Grill, but I have never done a birthday there.

I celebrated my birthday in WDW, and the best places to celebrate were Tony's Town Square and the 50's Prime Time Cafe-- it was a blast. :D

If you tell them it's your birthday, they give you a pin, and then cast members make comments and give you some free things (like a free brownie at Casey's). :thumbsup2

I did Liberty Tree Tavern and Chip N Dale were both there. The only thing was I didn't care for the food..very dry and overcooked (and I am not picky). Happy Birthday :wizard:

I would recommend the Garden Grill. We have done mostly all character meals, b/c I have 3 and 2 yr. old boys, and we always come back to Garden Grill. We did LTT this past trip, and thought it was ok, very basic, and not very tasty. THe Garden Grill has a much variety, and the characters are Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale.
Good luck with your decision....;)

I ate at LTT for my last birthday at WDW. It had Goofy, Minnie, and Chip and Dale there. They decorated our table with MM shaped confetti and brought me out a cupcake with a candle in it at the end of our meal. They also brought me a birthday card signed by all the characters. It wasn't a huge deal, but enough for me.

1) Unfortunately, WDW does very little for birthdays or other special days.
2) They simply do not have the staff or time.
3) Characters can't spend extra time, or other people will be upset.
4) With over 15,000,000 visitors, there are "special" days for lots of people.
5) Sometimes they try a lot, and other times they don't try at all.
6) All depends upon the CM at the time and place.
7) If you want something special, you need to buy it (ie, special cake)

8) What you "might" get at eateries
. . . birthday wish from the CM's
. . . birthday nod from the characters (non-face-characters can't talk)
. . . table sprinkled with confetti
. . . card signed by characters
. . . cupcake with a candle, except at AK and AKL
. . . nothing
