We have a little boy in our group that will be turning 5 our first day in WDW. We will be at MK that day.
What special things can we do for his b-day. We have a character breakfast but what else???
I've heard there is a special b-day pass where you can go to the front of the line on your b-day. Fact or fiction?
Would appreciate any ideas.:wizard:

Definitely "fiction"...you were misinformed.

You can stop by Town Hall near the entrance to Magic Kingdom & get him a free birthday button. Some cast members may greet him with a "Happy Birthday" upon seeing the button.

You should have it noted on the ADR for your character breakfast that it his birthday. Your server may bring out a free cupcake for him.

Hope he has a great birthday!!

For my son we were in MGM, however I didn't know where you could get the birthday buttons, so we didn't. We had lunch reservations for Sci-Fi and told the waiter about his birthday and he got a free ice cream dessert! (I ended up eating it because he was full and ice cream is not his favorite...).

Then 3 days later for my daughter's birthday, in Animal Kingdom, we got her a birthday button and the Cast Members were the ones who noticed and gave us the "fast passes". We got to cut the ride line several times. It was just me and my daughter, so DS didn't know to get jealous!

This year we will be there again for their birthdays so I'll be sure to get the birthday buttons when we enter the parks. I'm thinking about letting them decide which park they want to go to for their birthday.

The other 2 kids are a little jealous since their birthdays are in July and for us, it's not a good time to go on vacation then. But, I'm letting the other 2 kids "pretend" like it's their birthdays so they can choose the park of their choice for that day.

I just hope all 4 of them don't choose "Magic Kingdom"! I only have a 5 day pass!:) :bday:

My son will also be turning 5 on our trip. I've planned on getting the button from guest service and I'm making a birthday t-shirt for him to wear. I think I will also decorate the room and ask mousekeeping for a little help with this. You can also let the CM know for your dining reservations.

When we went to Disney it was my sisters birthday. So they gave her a Birthday pin at Guest Services. And then at one of the restraunts they gave her a free dessert. Almost all the CMs that saw her wished her a happy birthday, so that made her feel special. Also we stayed at the ASMR and they sent a card with Cinderella's autograghed picture in it with balloons! It was so sweet!
My little brother will be having a 5th birthday soon too!!! We will be celebrating 3 birthdays when we go back!!!

I hope you son has a wonderful birthday!!!:bday:

My daughter also turned 5 while we were at Disney in March. You can get the Birthday button at your hotel when u check in. If your at a disney resort they will set up for a disney character to call the child on his/her bday and they have a card put in your room. Any place u eat at let them know ahead of time if its ADR and some places have a special bday placemat that all the characters sign and u get to keep. Crystal Palace has all the kids form a line behind Winnie the pooh and they march behind him across the resteraunt while he holds a sign saying its my special day. Chef Mickeys announces their bday and everyone twirls their napkins, its fun. She got something special at every place we had ADR at. There was a few times when we were waiting in line the CM would have everyone sing Happy bday to my daughter. She got picked to go to the front of the line at the small world ride and she got to be the cruise director and pass all the boats through . Theres all kinds of fun things that can happen for them on their bday there. My daughter is already planning her next bday trip there lol Hope u have a wonderful trip and that he is has a Happy Magical Bday :)

Also, at breakfast they decorated our table with bday confetti at CP and they gave her a cupcake with a candle, chef mickeys had a placemat and bday cupcake for her too and CRT had a special bday desert for her too
