As anyone done the birthday illumination cruise? If so, please tell me about it and if you would recommend it! We are thinking of surprising my 11 year old on his birthday.

We did an Illuminations cruise this past January. They decorate the boat with balloons and a birthday banner. We also did a Wishes cruise.
If I had to pick between the 2 I would go with Wishes.
On the Illuminations cruise you are basically parked just past the bridge that goes into France. I think its France. The globe is pretty far away from you. You get to see the fireworks but it was hard to see a lot of what was going on in the distance on the globe. A big part of the Illuminations show is the globe.
The Wishes cruise is just fireworks but I thought that it was great. With all this being said I would absolutely book a Fireworks cruise again. The family had such a great time just relaxing and enjoying some "quiet time" away from the crowds and hustle and bustle of the parks. It is a "Magical" experience.

We booked an Illuminations cruise several years ago for my girls birthdays.

I loved it- Guests on the fence would wave and yell out happy birthday to them as we passed. I thought it was nice not having to be shoulder to shoulder in the crowd watching it.

Our driver also was nice enough to boat us over after Illuminations to see Fantasmic- not sure if they always do that, but it was nice to be able to do both that night.
