Birthday for Dad?

My father's birthday is going to come around while we're on our next cruise, and I wanted to do something special for him. My first thought was to get him a massage at the Senses spa, but he said he wouldn't feel comfortable in what seems to be a fairly feminine setting. My next idea was to bring a bottle of Scotch on board and order the plate of cheese and nuts for his room. The idea was that we could enjoy them on his Veranda before dinner the day of his birthday. But sadly, spirits and liquors are no longer allowed on board and Disney's website said that if I buy it from White Caps, I'll have to wait until the end of the cruise to receive it. Now I am officially out of ideas :(. Any recommendations on how I can make his day a little special? Nothing public or fussy - that's just not his style.

make sure to tell his room host, they make towel animals for all the rooms every night and they will often make a birthday cake out of towels for a persons birthday as well. I wouldn't think its to fussy for anyone and its not public but you can be the judge.
happy birthday to your dad.

If you are sailing the Dream or Fantasy, take him to Meridian's great little bar, deck 11 back of ship by Palo & Remy. Can sit outside and enjoy a nice scotch with a good cigar if he likes and great view of the sea. Or great to sit inside and they have a nice scotch selection including some "higher" priced ones if you want to get him one of those. Another idea would be a tasting, scotch, martini, etc. We did one this past summer with wine, champagne and scotch. Tastings are small groups of about 24-30 and a lot of fun. Happy birthday to your Dad!

How about a professional shave? They are awesome! He'd get a nice hot towel treatment and temple/scalp massage, then a nice close shave with hit shaving cream. I love them.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone! I'll probably do a combination of the ideas above :-).

We're on the magic so no Meridian. Is there a similar bar on our ship?

Nothing like Meridian with the outdoor seating / view of the ocean. You do have O'gills which is an Irish pub.

Do you know if they'll let you buy the drink and take it upstairs to your room? Is that frowned upon or anything?

I have done that and never had anyone telling me not to do so. I don't know for sure though, if I was breaking a rule or something. Just never asked and never told it was frowned upon.

As CDC posted, take it anywhere and if Dad wants to sit by pool with it they will put it in plastic for him. Order the All Hands on Deck cheese platter through room service for him and bring him his drink from the bar and he can enjoy on his veranda.
