Birthday Cake at Chef Mickey's

I would like to order a special cake for my daughter's 14th BD meal at Chef Mickey's. My husband thinks it's silly to order a cake at a buffet meal. I think she would love it and nothing strange about it.
Just wonder what everyone here thinks? I think my husband just doesn't want to spend the extra $ since desserts are included with the meal.

Also can anyone give advice as where to order the cake from? Does the CR have a good bakery?

There is an entire thread about ordering cakes at wdw.

Check that thread out,metals and lots of pics. But they are pricey. Custom cakes are usually $60 ish and up
