Birthday Buttons at City Hall MK

Okay...I'm hammering out the details now

I'm set to pick up a 'Birthday Button' for my DS at City Hall on his birthday. We have a PS at Crystal Palace for breakfast at 8:05 and the official opening for MK that day is 9:00. My question is this:

Will we be able to pick up the button on the way in? Will City Hall be open that early? I would hate to backtrack b/c we will be right by the castle and ready for opening

Help!

yes they will be open that early. They might be crowded. I picked up my dd's the day before - then had them for them when they were getting dress.. Just a suggestion.

Buckleybunch has good advice -- pick it up the day before. You can get the button at guest services at any of the parks.

Only Magic Kingdom has the Birthday Pins- buttons.

The buttons ARE available at other parks. My dh got his at MGM.

I never knew that.. The last time we celebrated a birthday it was only at MK, and when we went to Epcot they looked at us strangly..

Does the other parks buttons/pins look the same as MK's?

Yes, the buttons are all the same. My dh had the idea that he would collect a button from each park, but it turned out that they all had the same one.

That would of made picking up buttons easier the last time.

I think it would be fun if they had different buttons for the different parks.

My twins wore them this year to school.

The button mentions what park you got it at. We have gotten MK and Epcot birthday buttons. We didn't try at the others. So just ask at guest relations at the park you are visiting.

Cool, never knew the other, non MK parks, had the button. Always learning here.

The birthday button DW got at Guest Services in Epcot was rectangular with a picture of Mickey in the middle. It says "Happy Birthday From your Epcot Family" & happy birthday is written out in the different languages of the WS pavilions. It was a nice surprise & great free souvenir!!

I will have to get a button at each park. That would be a neat thing.

Do you 'do birthday' all week? We were just planning on getting one for his birthday....

Sure you can, it's his birthday week afterall.

The one at MGM is the same as the one at MK. It doesn't have it's own.

The advice to get it the day before is good...except that we will be at AK all day and then heading to Epcot for dinner and Illuminations. I guess we could 'swing by' MK, but it seems like a lot to do to just get the button

Is there any way to get one at our resort? We are staying at the WL.

DH said we could arrive a bit early and get it that morning (but 8:05 sounds early enough )

pewing, check at AK. When dd got her birthday pin from there in Oct it was just like the one from the MK. We were told then that they are not making anymore AK pins and the birthday pins will be the same for all parks. When our other dds celebrated their birthdays in March and May they were able to get the different ones from each park. I am not sure the CM gave us the correct information the last time or not. If so you can get it at AK and be all set.

Buckleybunch, if you asked for the pin at quest relations at the entrance to Epcot that's probably why you got a strange look. We always get strange looks when we ask for any type of information there. We were told that they didn't make GACs anymore when we were there Christmas. We were also told that all meals for all restaurants were book for that day when we tried to make PS. Once inside the park we went to quest relations on the left of the sphere. We were given a GAC and were able to make PS for any restaurant of our choice.
