Birthday Button Etiquette

Here is my opinion, take it for what it is.

If you are going to Disneyland to celebrate your birthday(s), get the buttons and wear them with pride.

If you just happen to be going to Disneyland around the time of your birthday, skip them.
Agreed. If you are celebrating your birthday there, wear the pin (as long as the "Happy Birthday" doesn't bother you.) My granddaughter loved that people wished her a HB, and now searches for people wearing a button and wishes everyone a HB....

We're visiting in late January. One granddaughter will turn 6 on Dec 22 (so no chance of a trip on her birthday 3 days before Christmas) and her older sister turns 9 the day after we leave. I'm letting the younger one wear a Birthday Button on our first day at MK and the older one can wear hers on our last.

I agree with the GO FOR IT opinion. :) We are celebrating our anniversary a month early at DLR in July...but I might not wear it when I'm on my own in the parks during the day! ;)

It's a trip to celebrate your birthdays, so wear them! I agree with what a few others have said - don't expect anything for them other than lots of Happy Birthday wishes from both cast members and guests. You'll get lots of these. This year has been our family's year of birthday trips, and the time we're in the parks to celebrate haven't always been on our actual birthdays. So we've still gotten the birthday buttons and have picked one day to wear them (we chose our first day), instead of wearing them our whole trip. I think that's personal though. Have a great trip!

I'm on the fence about getting one next trip. We arrive on my birthday, but our APs are blocked out that day and we won't be able to go into the park. :( I think I'd feel silly wearing a birthday pin, but knowing that the ticket-takers could see that it wasn't my birthday when I go through the turnstiles.

We are going in October about a week before my birthday and I am totally getting my button. This is how I'm celebrating my birthday, even if I can't take that exact day off (I'm a teacher and you do NOT get to take time off the week after a two week school break) and it likely the only celebrating of me that I'll do so that button is mine and I'm rockin it.

We went for my sons birthday last month and he would not wear the button even on his actually birthday. 13 year sol :sad2:. He did however rock a button he got for being the first dole whip of the day. His "first whip of the day" button was cool, but the birthday one was anathema.:P
