Birthday Balloons

My adult daughter will celebrate her birthday next week while we're on the MAGIC. Can I buy just a couple of large helium balloons on board (NOT the entire birthday package...just want a few large balloons) ?

Sorry...no balloons allowed on the ship and balloons are not part of the birthday package either.

The only time they have balloon drops onboard for special events it is done in the atrium and the CMs surround the area making sure none of them leave. The kids get to pop them all, then the pieces are cleaned up. If you go to the port with a balloon from WDW or elsewhere, they confiscate it and hold it for you until you get off the ship there again.

I'm so happy I asked...I was considering just taking a few and blowing them up myself. Now I'm curious as to why balloons are not allowed on DCL ?

Not just DCL. It's the risk of them going overboard. A cruiseline can be fined big bucks for putting things in the ocean that aren't supposed to be there (whether by accident or not).

Just adding since it is her birthday, candles are not allowed either due to fire hazard - even on a cake.
