What, if anything, has a CM done for someone in your party celebrating a birthday while staying at one of the value resorts? Card? Balloons?

I read about these surprises. How can you ensure they happen? I'd be happy to pay, but don't know who to ask. Guest services? We're staying at Pop Century.

I went to the front desk and asked for a couple of balloons on my grandson's birthday at the as sports. He had already receive his birthday surprise from us and a card was left on the table. I did not ask for anything more but more was brought to our room. I did not tell them what room I was in. I think it must have been the maid :wizard: because on that day a cute little washcloth duck and a card was their to welcome us back.

Don't go expecting this to happen. Magic happens when you least expect it.
We had been told nothing like this ever happens at the values. :wizard:

If you're willing to pay, then there are a couple companies who will decorate the room, or you could call the WDW FLorist (www.disneyflorist.com) who can create a gift basket.

As NanaTink said, don't expect the resort to do anything for you.

We went last summer for our DD15 Bday. We stayed at CBR and had told them at the time of ressie that it was her Bday.
The resort did not do anything special....but we did not say anything when we arrived...
I had packed some Disney Princess centerpiece cut outs and a birthday banner along with her presents... and hung them up in the middle of the night when she was sleeping... so no real dissapointment about nothing "extra"

We got her a Bday pin at guest services and at Whispering Canyon WL Lunch they sang and did a silly trick with a b'day dessert....

She danced the birthday Hula at the Luau so we had plenty of Magic !

I would not expect anything..make your own plans and if a surprise happens GREAT.........

When we stayed at the All Star Movies when I checked in I informed the front desk that it would be my son's birthday and could I arrange for some balloons and a card. I was willing to pay for the balloons. They asked who his favorite character was and on his bday when we got back to the room there was a card from Buzz and some balloons.

We stayed at Pop Century in Feb of the year for my daughter's birthday. I stopped by the guest relations and asked if there was anything that they did special for birthdays. The CM asked me what character was my daughters fav, I told them Goofy. When we had returned from the parks that day an autographed picture of Goofy was tied to some balloons with a happy birthday wish at our door. My daughter was thrilled. :cool1:

March of last year, at check in I informed the CM was my youngest son's birthday.

They left balloons and a Donald Duck birthday card, signed. Plus, everyday he did get towel animals.

YOu can request a birthday wake up call at the front desk the day before. Goofy calls and wishes the birthday child happy birthday. This thrilled my DD. (we were at the ASMo). I also hung a "Happy Birthday Princess" banner in our window. A bunch of CM's (from Mousekeeping) stopped by and sang Happy Birthday to her> It was cute. Enjoy!

I have a friend who stayed at the Pop in September. Told the Front Desk it was her DD (16) birthday. She had a bouquet of balloons EACH day of their trip! Wow!
