Birthday/Anniversary

Have any of you ever gotten any special treatment at resorts when you are there to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. When we are there we're celebrating both of these.

I am not by far expecting anything, nor asking for anything (other than the TA requesting AB) but I know my TA placed a note on our reservation.

Just curious what experience you all have had with the magic pixie dust and the generosity of a cast member.

We were there for my 50th last year; I received a signed birthday card from Mickey and Minnie, birthday button, balloons and a "gold" key card when we checked in. Once we arrived in our room, I was brought a basket with a bottle of wine, two Mickey-etched wine glasses and a box of chocolates. Also, when I got home, closer to my birthday, I received an autographed photo of Mickey.

Wow... that sounds amazing! You definitely have an extra sprinkling of pixie dust sent your way.

Thanks. Yes, it must have been pixie dust because when we went for my DH's 50th they totally ignored him and did nothing! I keep telling him it is because I am younger and prettier.

I went to WDW for the first time, for my 50th, and my dd turned 6 while there. We did note her birthday, but not mine. She got nothing out of the ordinary, other than a birthday card and cupcake at Crystal Palace, but I noted that on the ADR when making it.
Went back again, when dd turned 13. In fact, we were another mom and her dd, who also turned 13. DD had her birthday while at WDW, the friend turned 13 the day after we got home. Their birthdays were duly noted on all ADRs as well as on our BWV reservation. Other than some cupcakes and special placemats at Chef Mickey's nothing else appeared.

I firmly believe that if you want something special for a birthday, anniversary..whatever..you need to take care of it yourself. That way you'll be sure to get what you want. I don't depend on the magic and pixiedust at WDW anymore. It may cost me more but I know, going in, that the birthday will get the notice it deserves if I have paid for it.
