Okay, this is BAD!!! My dog got a hold of the holder I had he kids' birth certificates....one good thing, only one got destroyed. But, the problem is that we leave in 40 days!!! I live in Nova Scotia and the kids were born in Ontario. Is there any way to get a replacement birth certificate quickly from here?

I do have a photocopy of the Statement of Live Birth...but not the original. I don't think for a second that will do at the border.

Any input anyone????

I know mine for the kids took about 6 weeks-not sure if there is a quicker way.

Just to note though we have never, in our 11 trips, been asked to show the kids birth certificates. That's not saying it might not happen- just our experience.

Why don't you try contacting the office on Monday by phone and plead the old 'my dog ate it' bit and see if they can help. Of course explaining that you have reservations, leaving in forty days might help, maybe if you offer to fax info to them and pay for express postage/courier back, who knows ;) maybe they can help. !!
I wish you luck and have a great time:wave:

You've never been asked, Hockey mom? Do you fly or drive? We fly, and have been asked everytime, go figure, lol

I would call too. I THINK they have a service where if you pay abit extra, they will rush it for you.

We have driven 7 times crossing at Niagra, Fort Erie, and Toronto. We have flown 4 times out of Buffalo and Toronto. I always have them handy and always amazed that no-one is ever asked.

The back log in Ontario is very long for birth certificates. However, there is a new form out that is valid until the backlog clears. I am not sure of the number on the form but if you can't get any answers, pm me and I will find it. My friend had a baby in Oct 2003 and still does not have his birth certificate and they are going to WDW in February. The lady at the gov't office told her about this form so I can get the info if you need it.

If you call the Ontario office in Thunder Bay, they will give you a # to fax the information to that is quicker. You will need to provide proof of your vacation (I sent my WDW confirmation) and it was pretty speedy. I also printed the application form from the website. If you don't seem to have any luck, PM me and I can dig up the original paperwork to provide you with the #...

I can help... just had to do this before our trip but my excuse was the lame old 'I lost it!!'

go to birth certificate forms (hope this is the right page) and print off the forms.... there will be a phone number for you to expidite the forms and you have to include a coppy of your disney reservations or plane tickets or something to say you need the b/c immediatly.... it usually takes about 10 days to get it doing it this way but make sure the form is filled out right.... I goofed on mine and forgot to put my birth date down (DUH!!) so it took 6 weeks instead of the 10 days!!

Good luck!

Expidited fax number wasn't on the form but the fax number is 807-343-7411!

the actual web page where the form to fax is at forms

You guys are great!!! I will do the fax thing and hope to get it quickly...as soon as I get the package from Universal with my dates on it. :(

But I cannot get the link for the printable form to come up. Am I the only one who has this problem??

When we had to replace my boyfriend's birth certificate from Ontario (We currently live in Saskatchewan) We just mailed the forms in by Xpresspost, along with copies of our airline reservation and our hotel reservation. It took about a week for us to receive his birth certificate. This was just a few months ago.
