We thougth ds had bipolar for a short time until he was diagnosed with seizures which present themselves with the same type of extreme moods and behaviors so I was able to relate to this article so much...the feeling of isolation, arguing with dh, guilt, finding the right doctor, medications, the decision to not have (adopt) more kids, throwing birthday party invitations away, just about everything to some extent.

(I also thought of you Ireland Nicole  )

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Hugs,
Cindy

Thanks Snoopymom; I read the article as well. While I'm not completely in agreement w/ everything, I value the fact that they are at least starting a dialogue about these kids and our families, up until now, the mainstream media only seemed to report on "sensational" situations where kids were on an extreme number of meds, or most tragically, had died.

I'm happy to see someone at least talking about the reality of living w/ a bipolar kiddo.
