Bing says to wait on buying airfare...should I?

Airfare is usually the last thing I buy. I'm always paranoid that I will have to cancel my trip, so I usually buy them 2-4 weeks before departure.

But, I'm pretty sure Disney is happening this December. Bing has the fare at $189 and says to wait. 80% confidence that rate will drop $50+. Going from National (DCA) to MCO.

Thoughts? Take Bing's advice or don't risk it? We're buying 6 tickets so would love to get the best fare possible.

Bing told me to buy, so I waited til Wednesday and bought and my fares dropped today 208.00. Oh, well! I'm going to Disney World!:cheer2:

What would you do if you didn't have Bing's assesment?
Have you looked to see how full the planes are that you want?
When are you travelling in December?

FWIW, I can't imagine waiting so late to buy my air, but that's just me.

Regardless, once you book, don't look again. If you by at $189 and the price drops $50, but you don't know it drops, how would you be bothered?

If I were going on a trip in December, I would have already purchased my tickets (in fact, I did, in August and the price has only increased). Who cares if the price drops $50 if you can't get the flight you want or 6 tickets at the lower price?

I usually track prices on my own and go with my gut. $189 sounds like a dream. Considering this is December travel that is only a little more than a month away, I would purchase now.
It would be shocking to me if the prices did drop. But like a pp said, buy and close your eyes!
Good luck and enjoy your trip!

I'd go ahead and buy. I normally purchase pretty far out, but didn't on this trip in Nov. because the market has changed so much since we last flew and we're paying double what we paid to fly March 2011. Also, traveling to a further airport to get a non-stop flight. Anyhow I booked five weeks before and needed three seats and what happened to me was I had to end-up booking a one-way on AirTran there and a one-way on Delta home to be able to get three seats together. Flights were full with single seats mostly here and there. That's not possible for us with a 7 year old, and also this time flying with a 1 year old lap child. I wanted us all together. Booking the one-ways was nerve wracking too...I had two windows open going through the process on both at the same time. And if I would've known what I'd end up paying I could've booked it for that price at our closer airport months ago, but like I said it was double what we've paid, and I decided to wait it out. Lesson learned.

I didn't follow their advise and waited and landed an awesome deal!

But I wouldn't mind paying that price for roundtrip.

Out of curiosity, how do you get Bing advice on flights. I don't use Bing and am unfamiliar with it.

Bing is a search engine. Go to the travel icon and inserter your travel dates and hit search.

Buy it and don't look back, that sounds like awesome price.

Usually I go in with a budget in mind, and if the tickets are near or below - I'll buy and never ever check again!
